Here we are at 3-4 going into the bye week. It's the worst record we've had after 7 games under Coach Harbaugh. There are a lot of weaknesses on this team and there appears to be a lack of cohesiveness, which is something we haven't seen since Brian Billick's last few seasons. Harbaugh, still a great coach is finally looking human. He's made some mistakes this year that contributed to losing a couple of those games.
Overall, we are lucky fans to say that a 3-4 record is the worst we've seen in 6 years. Baltimore loves their football and the Ravens organization has set a high standard for themselves over the years. Some fans forget how lucky they are and want to fire everyone from the coach to the quarterback. I still hope we can beat the teams in our division and get into the playoffs for a 6th consecutive year.
Well if a team that changes it's offensive coordinator in the 2nd half of the season can still win the Superbowl, then I have to believe it's possible to right this ship as well.

I hope that the team can fix what ails them during this BYE week. Let's just say I'm hopefully optimistic. Anything is possible, and they have pulled through worse predicaments in the past.
Next week is an away game at the Browns, and if the Ravens lose that, it's not good. Then on the 11th, the Bengals come to town and if the Ravens can't rally and win that game AT HOME, then we are pretty much cooked. My husband won tickets to the Ravens - Bengals game, so it will be my first attendance at a football game. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them.

It's time for Harbaugh to stop worrying about his coaching "friends" and think of the team. Let's start with taking a hard look at the run game coordinator.. Juan Castillio.

Hey, Hoot! Good to read you!
High performance is your enemy when you stumble, that's for sure. What concerns me is that certain of the problems, like the offensive line, have persisted for the entire season so far. Last game the line looked better, but I am still left with the impression that Harbs does not know how to fix this problem.
I'm glad to see McKinnie gone, both because his skills have faded and because he appears to be locker room poison. Do your drunken celebrating during the off-season. Someone on the team, now that Lewis is gone, needs to step up and lead the players. Focus them on what matters during the season.

Foggy, I'm not seeing a repeat either. The difference between last year and this year are those tight games that we won, but this year are losing. EY, yeah the O-line isn't looking good, but they aren't really BAD. I think the call playing needs to be revamped. I mean, run-run-pass just isn't moving the ball. Change it up some. I really like Marlon Brown, he's going to be another Torrey Smith, get the ball to him. Doss is finally living up to his potential, and Dallas Clark is starting to actually catch the ball. We just can't seem to all click at once.

I think getting the Colts name back is worth 3 or 4 wins a season. Next game with Indianapolis should be played for those rights.... Winner gets to keep the name colts. I hate the name "ravens" to be honest with you.

If the Browns win (unlikely) and the Steelers win (likely) then it will be Bengals, Browns and the Ravens and Steelers tied for last place. Whoduthunkit going into the season?

Art Modell was put down and slammed by a lot of people, especially in Cleveland, but he had the class to leave the name, the colors, the history, etc, yet Cleveland still complains. They got a new team and stadium in short order and Baltimore got raped!

I hate the name "ravens" to be honest with you. We'll have to disagree. I like the name Ravens and the team's colors more now than the Colts' name and colors. Indy can have 'em, at this point. Cleveland basically thumbed its nose at Modell, and then got all crampy when he left. That's the real mystery.

It seems to me that Ray Rice is scared to get hit now. He doenst seem to have that burst he had before his hip injury. He gets mear the line and falls forward.

A running backs life span in the NFL is generally 6-7 years, from what I've read.

Wow. Look at the Bengals laying a beat down on the Jets. True, they're the Jets and haven't been very good for awhile, but does anyone else see the Ravens getting by these guys without significant off-season upgrades? They'll be well ahead of us and we'll lose two to them. The division is basically theirs.

Yep, I got into an argument last week with my son about that, he called me a "hater", but Pierce is getting more yardage than Rice. He just stops when he gets hit, there is no forward motion. I love the name Ravens, and the purple & black... I let the Colts go long ago, but I hate anyone tying the name of Unitas or Donovan to Indy. The Bungals are a force to be reckoned with this year, it's going to be tough beating them.

I think they need to look at running back in this years draft, that or free agency and for the love of pete, get another solid receiver to line up with Torey Smith..

Pierce will me a beast once he learns more about the game and formations. Big guy hard to bring down. Rice just seems different this year. Maybe his hip hurts more than hes letting on. He has also fumbled more in the last 12 months then in the last 3 years seems like. Maybe hes gotten to "cocky". I hope not but who knows. I know he is very involved with community projects maybe that is taking away from his practice and routines.

Whenever anyone asks me my favorite team, I still reply "the Baltimore Colts." I grew up with the Colts, they seemed bigger than life to me as a kid. It's just never been quite the same for me with the Ravens, possibly due to the fact that most of the current players weren't even born when I graduated from high school. I still enjoy football, but I'm not nearly as giddy about the whole thing as I used to be.
For obvious reasons, I don't particularly follow the doings of the Detroit Lions, but I did catch the end of their comeback today against Dallas, and I must say, Calvin Johnson is a stud. One editorial placed him in the rarefied air occupied only by the likes of Rice and Hutson. That might be a bit of reach, but I wouldn't argue against putting him in the top 10 all-time. He's damn good.
I think the Ravens are going to be hard-pressed to catch the Bengals at this point. Andy Dalton is playing well, the defense is solid, and the rest of the schedule, particularly on the road, is manageable. I'd leapfrog them over undefeated Kansas City at this point, who have feasted on a predominantly soft schedule up until now. The Chiefs, however, still have to face both Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers twice, as well as Andrew Luck. That will likely bring them back to earth and give the Bengals a shot at one of the AFC's top two playoff slots.

If they lose this week, the Ravens will break a bye week winning streak, and a winning streak that goes back years against the Browns. Sooner or later, of course, both streaks will end. Streaks always do. But a weak performance now could end them both at once!

The spread is Ravens -2.5, or -5.5 if you don't count home field advantage, generally regarded as worth a field goal.

I expect the Ravens to win this game handily, but it won't be lopsided. Browns are a tough team, they just lack offensive talent.
If they win the next two, the division is up for grabs again.

If they come out and start with run-run-pass and out, it's going to be a long game.
