That's cold know matter where you are. It is... and especially with our humidity... I remember seeing a guy standing in the back of his pickup north of Idaho Springs, Colorado along US40 shoveling snow into the back of his pickup covering the ice chests... he was wearing a pair of cutoff jeans, a short sleeve shirt, and tennis shoes... the humidity must have been real low because it felt "comfortable"... It has been as low here as -19 in North Mississippi (Corinth) the year I graduated from high school... 1966... but I don't remember how cold it was here in South Mississippi that Winter... I think the coldest temp I remember working in was around -10. It was damn cold and at night.

What is the coldest temp you remember down there AB? The coldest I can remember was around 5 degrees... I remember I was working aloft on a phone cable that morning and a TV crew stopped across the street and filmed me working... put it on the news that night... So are you are saying that it was newsworthy that they found you working?

So are you are saying that it was newsworthy that they found you working? Yes... that night when they covered to cold temps they said not everyone could bundle up at home and stay warm... some folks had to work... chill factor was well below 0...

Dramatic Blast of Chilly Air to Hit Midwest, Cool Down East The chilliest air since last spring will blast into the northern Plains and Midwest late this week and will make areas from the Central states to the East and South feel like autumn for a couple of days. The sweep of autumn air will follow a dose of drenching downpours and severe weather in some locations. Temperatures will take a dramatic tumble over parts of the Midwest on Friday. When compared to midweek afternoon highs from this week, early morning temperatures by the weekend may be 30 to 50 degrees lower. With gusty winds factored in, AccuWeather RealFeelĀ® Temperatures will plummet. The chilly air will expand across the Central states Friday into Saturday and may be a factor for fans heading to high school and college football games in the region. The much cooler and less humid air will be accompanied by gusty winds from portions of the central and southern Plains eastward to the Appalachians. The period from Saturday into Saturday night is likely to be quite blustery over the central Appalachians with plunging temperatures and RealFeel Temperatures. While the cooler air will lose some of its punch upon nearing the Atlantic coast, autumn air will still be felt east of the Appalachians this weekend. High temperatures will be no higher than the 60s from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia, New York City and Boston on Sunday. RealFeel Temperatures can dip into the 50s at times during the daylight hours along the Interstate-95 corridor in the Northeast. Cooler and drier air will also settle southward into Florida this weekend, which has been rain-soaked during much of September. High temperatures will be in the 60s both days of the weekend around Atlanta. A breeze, bright sunshine and a deep blue sky will add to the autumn feel during the daylight hours. While the chill is projected to hang on around the Great Lakes into next week, temperatures will trend upward in the East and South. According to AccuWeather Long Range Expert Paul Pastelok, "The brunt of the chilly air with the outbreak late this week and another chilly blast that follows between Oct. 10 and 13 will be directed over the northern Plains and Midwest, rather than along the Atlantic coast. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/dramatic-blast-of-chilly-air-t/34961299

Soaking Rain to Arrive in Philly, NYC, DC at End of Week Dry weather has returned to the Northeast after an unsettled few days earlier in the week. However, it will be short-lived. A plume of moisture riding along a stationary boundary will trek across the Ohio Valley and into the mid-Atlantic as the week draws to an end. Some of the moisture will be associated with once Tropical Storm Simon that soaked the Southwest earlier in the week. Part of Simon's moisture has been sheared off and is pushing eastward. Although the rain will not be as heavy compared to the amount that falls across the central portion of the country Thursday into Friday, it will be heavy enough to bring the risk for delays and cancellations from Washington, D.C., to Boston into the weekend. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/soaking-rain-to-arrive-in-phil/35405035
