I heard that story. It would have been funnier if it had shattered. > Then someone would have started a fund to get him a new one .... I'd have put in a couple of empty tin cans and a ball of string.

Nope. Never had an iPhone. I'm a droid fan. Never had a smartphone of any kind. My little flip phone serves my needs just fine.

That's been my approach for a few years now. But the fact I can't participate in the text-go-round on game day might move me to a smart phone. Plus I could use it to control my home automation!

Folks that stay in the house all the time and post on message boards don't really need smart phones. They are pretty handy for getting out and about, finding restaurants, directions, stock quotes, the news, email, etc. Can't see much of a need for a camera for cellar dwellers either.

Sounds like a person who overpaid for an iPhone 6?

I have a camera. So does the phone, but I don't know how to use it.

If the i-craze is your bag then spend away. I mean I have probably 10k wrapped up in bikes, so some folks might call THAT crazy!

I've had an Iphone and Droids over the years. I'll never own another Iphone. I'll either go with Droids or stay with my current style Windows phone.

Soon, next few weeks

I use the Amazon Cloud player for music and there's no app on the Windows phone. That was a deal breaker for me, so I went back to the Android phone.

Android looks like the phone I'd buy. But the unlocked developer versions are expensive (without an unlocked kernel you can't remove the apps the telco puts on there or update the OS when you like).

The Windows app store lacks quite a bit behind the Google Play market. Even though I'm very picky about what apps I put on my phone anyways. I'll be going back to Android when my contract is up.

What features and functionality is driving you to update from the g3 to the g5? Well considering the droids are mini PC's , we couldn't run the business without them, emails, etc.. The battery life in 3's suck, the 5's are said to have a very large improvement in battery life.
