Can it fly through a pattern of #4 lead shot? Could congress pass a law making the interference of a government drone a felony?

Can it fly through a pattern of #4 lead shot? A decent fly swatter should do the trick, better yet, just put some glass in your windows.

A couple of thoughts, If it enters your property shouldn't there be a warrant issued? If it enters your property without a warrant can you attack it? If it enters your property without identifying itself, you wouldn't know if it was about to do you harm, so could you attack it?

If you are trapped under rubble I am not sure you care. If you are innocent do you care? (Just kidding, of course we care). Drones are here to stay, we need to trim the government down to something accountable, and then hold them accountable.

Drones are or soon will be everywhere. How is one to know who is running it? A cop? At the wrong address? A pervert wanting to see your daughter naked?
How will we know? A shotgun ought to be a viable option.

I agree, now we just have to decide how high above the property you are allowed to shoot, and how far your bullets can land from your property and how responsible you are for the damage that they cause. I think there is an upper limit or airplanes will be in danger. So you think a shotgun blast distance is the right length? With telephoto lenses people will have to stop sunbathing.

The problem with firing rifles into the air is the distance the bullet will travel. A .22LR will go 1 1/2 miles. A shot gun may not have enough range but I don't want to hit some one in the next town either.

There could still be injuries, or death so the person shooting would have to accept liability if he fires. That said any drone that is in shotgun range over someones property would be fair game in my book because that is pretty low and clearly invasive. I wonder how government will deal with that issue if they start using drones for every action, to me it is a clear violation of the 4th, right up there with peeping tom violations.

Will there be an arms race for buckshot proof drones by government agencies?

If a done enters your property, how do you know if a warrant was issued or not? In my opinion police should have to notify the residence that a drone is directly in route to search the property, that they have a warrant, and that it is not to be interfered with. Drones should probably be limited to cases where physically searching a site would be harmful such as a suspicion of a bomb or meth lab.

You are dreaming the impossible dream, you know there will be mission creep (gallop actually) cops always want the latest toys.
Like military surplus armored vehicles and such

Like military surplus armored vehicles and such Then of course there will be armed drones, then ones that are AI driven with photo recognition as to who they can shoot.

A county near me just stopped the use of drones by a fire company and local police.
In 5 years every Barney Fife cop will have drones over your house.
