East Faces Cold Halloween Storm Chilly, Damp and Snowy for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Highs over the Northeast will be 5-10 degrees below average with AccuWeather.com RealFeelĀ® temperatures in the middle 40s to low 50s along the East Coast and mid-Atlantic and the 30s over the Interior Northeast as trick-or-treaters venture out Friday evening. A strong area of high pressure moving down from Canada will bring a sharp drop in temperatures by the end of next week, but a developing storm may threaten to bring rain and even snow to parts of the region just in time for trick-or-treating. According to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline, "Rain showers could be seen along the I-95 corridor while the interior Northeast could see some wet snowflakes mixing in." Anyone traveling Friday night should take caution as some roads may be slippery. Trick-or-treaters should consider bringing a sweatshirt or jacket. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/east-faces-cold-halloween-stor/36303863

Supposed to be down to 31 here Saturday night... and I'm just 90 miles from the Gulf of Mexico... first killing frost is normally around November 17 here... great weather... that 55 degrees felt good on my daily walk around the hay field about an hour ago...

Snow to Plaster Appalachians, New England as Cold Arrives A storm riding a blast of cold air will unleash heavy snow on the central and southern Appalachians Saturday and will turn toward part of New England by Sunday. Heavy wet snow and falling trees could block some roads in parts of the Appalachians. Even in the absence of heavy snow for the major cities, including along the I-95 corridor, gusty winds can lead to travel problems for a time. Flight delays are possible in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City and Boston. Accumulating snow is in store for the mountains from southwestern Pennsylvania to northern Georgia. The heaviest snow will fall in the area from western Maryland and West Virginia to western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/snow-appalachians-new-england-cold/36568142

Looks like a somewhat gusty wind event for our area. I cleaned the pellet stove today, have 3 tons of pellets on hand, the portable generator is working, the freezers are full of food, short of a nuclear war we should be ok.

West of us did as predicted But not here. Their head lines are very misleading to those that don't pay attention. And some just love the hype and weather drama.

They are less that honest in their headlines. We have been over this before. I would think a weather person like you would want a more credible outlet for weather news and forecasts. Maybe some folks like the gloom, doom, weather hype. I guess we will just have to disagree. I quit........for now.
