... EVERYTHING!
There's a war on women. There's a war on immigration. There's a war on the middle class. And heck, if you listen to the Dems, racism in this country has not improved one iota.
Naturally, at least according to the Dems, all this originates with the Pubs.
With approval ratings in the crapper, and even Dems running with the same lame slogan as Pubs "We're not Obama" I can't understand why this mid-term isn't a slam dunk for the Pubs. Once again I will be holding my nose when I vote this Tuesday.

" With approval ratings in the crapper............?"
With the exception of Bill Clinton... every President since John Kennedy has had job approval ratings at less than 40% at one time or another in during their administrations... Barack Obama has not yet been below that 40%...
"Off Presidential election years" have traditionally been good for opponents of the sitting President's Party... this year should not be an exception...

So what? Yes past Presidential approval ratings have also been in the crapper. Big whoop? I'm talking about THIS President, because I live in the here and now. Just because it's been a trend doesn't mean it's OK. It's a bad trend. Let's hope some day someone comes along and bucks that trend. I agree that this year should be not different, but ti doesn't feel as slam dunk as it should be. The Pubs are lazy!!!

My point was that job approval ratings may not be so much "in the crapper" as one might think or believe... only two Presidents have left office with job approval ratings above 50% in my lifetime...

My point was that job approval ratings may not be so much "in the crapper" as one might think or believe... very few Presidents have left office with job approval ratings above 50%... Which in my opinion means in the crapper. If you're willing to accept mediocrity that's your problem. I'll keep hoping, in vain I know, for something better.

Didn't say anything about "accepting" it or not "hoping" for better... just pointing out the reality of the numbers...

Didn't say anything about "accepting" it or not "hoping" for better... just pointing out the reality of the numbers... So other than pointing them out, what impact does it have on the discussion? I mean other than trying to deflect the discussion away from the topic of the bugus crap the Dems make-up. Which is as ligit as your thread on the bogus crap the Pubs make-up.

But based on their advertising, it's apparent the Democrats never moved beyond 1965.

No it doesn't. The fact that it's 42% is a fact. Me calling it in the crapper is an opinion. There is nothing false about either, unless your opinion is that 42% isn't the crapper because other Presidents have been in the same place at the same time in their Presidency. My mistake, that wasn't you.

I don't hate anyone. I'm not a racist and if anything I revere women.

Many, if not most, premises these days... are opinions...
Ann Coulter, and many like her, are experts at bad premises...

At some point, you'd think minorities would notice all the incidents the Democrats point to as evidence of a problem are decades old. And then start to realize their advertising and grandstanding on these issues prove the opposite of what they're arguing.

People who are right don't always win the hearts (or votes) of the people... I appreciate her having the balls to tell the truth... win or lose...

If you choose to vote for someone who is bluntly honest with you... like Landrieu was... go for it... you will be the loser... that's part of the problem now...

Especially when it's just not true anymore. The south HAS changed a lot in the last 70 years... Even in the last 40 years. Blacks and women thrive there now, In part, BECAUSE of Republican and conservative politics.

If you choose to vote for someone who is bluntly honest with you... like Landrieu was... go for it... you will be the loser... that's part of the problem now... Is she being honest or disingenuous? Does she know that the Party of Andrew Jackson 'ruled' the South for well over a century? It was the, now, denigrated folk of places such as Wisconsin and Maine (Republicans) who put an end to the antebellum south and marginalized the physiocrat economic philosophy and feudal relationships nurtured and protected by the Dominant party of the south. I lived briefly in New Orleans in the mid sixties and I can't recall any Democrat Negros. Were she from Arkansas would she try to celebrate Orval Faubas? Or if from another neighboring state, George Wallace?
