"If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon." 3/21/2013 "Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago" 7/19/2013
Besides the "you didn't build that" remark, he mentioned paid firefighters. Sorry, Barry, about 86% of all firefighters in the country are volunteer. At one time I was one of them.

Why is race aways an issue? Because it's a way to make money and garner votes. When it comes to soap, cars and beer, sex sells.
In politics, fear gets votes.

Growing up race was never an issue. Things rarely are ever an issue with kids... we learn from our peers and parents and grow into our predjucies. Really? I never went to school with any blacks until high school. When we had black kids come into our school, I never heard of any problems either with other kids or teachers. None of the parents I knew had any problems with it They were just another kid in school. And that was as deep South as you're likely to get.

I grew up less than 6 miles from "the salt water", and we had no problems. In fact, we often went to the "black areas", and had barbeques, bought produce from them, and generally hanged out with them. We had black women that were care takers of white kids, and we played with their kids. I don't recall hearing about any problems anywhere in our area.

My guess is simply because it is so deep rooted in American culture, both Republicans and Democrats alike. It'll take a few more generations and a lot of personal honesty, instead of blaming the 'other lot' for it not to be an issue. We'll not see it in our lifetimes. I hear this all the time about 'American' culture. Can recall going to school in the segregated system our county had. But is this charge accurate? Has anyone here lived in the Orient? Ever been to Japan? Read any South American fiction? Examined African politics? America is a place people see as a destination. It is not a hell from which they attempt to escape. You are quite correct. There is far less racism in American culture than a lot of other places - places were people are routinely and openly shunned, or even killed because of their race/ethnicity.

And how many times was W called "the Chimp", and like epithets? So, it's racist when it's a Marxist being called that, but not a Pub?

I thought Smirky Chimpface was quite a good descriptor for the shrub, I don't see that any more racist than your ridiculous insistence in calling all those slightly left of Attila the Hun, Marxists.

Attilla was the consumate Leftist. If you weren't one of "his", you died. If you disagreed with him, you died. If you challenged anything he did or wanted, you died. Calling a gorilla "Michelle's ancestor" is no more racist than saying the same thing about anyone, since according to "science", we all descended from apes. And since The Puppet IS a Marxist, I wonder why you would complain about him being called one.

You know redleg, you never fail to crack me up with your oftentimes ridiculous statements but those two emboldened ones above clearly surpass most of your ridiculous assertions. Back to school with you my boy, you clearly haven't completed your primary education yet.

You want me to refute that Attila was a liberal/socialist, and that likening a gorilla to Michelle Obama isn't racist... no normal person would make such stupid assertions, are you for real? You get more off the wall with every post.

You get more off the wall with every post. It's no more "racist" when applied to Michelle than it was to Bush. And Attilla was a Socialist. The preeminent socialist. As I already explained. You, on the other hand, can merely sputter and complain instead of refuting my assertions.

Through lies, extortion, criminal activities, and the stupidity of far too many Americans. After all, he was using someone else's money to buy their votes, so why should they not give them?

You are the one spluttering, you are spluttering absolute idiotic rubbish.

Just like today's Socialists. He allowed no independent thought, just like today's Socialists. The only real difference is that he was willing to use a military to destroy societies he didn't like, while today's Socialists simply use the tools of that particular society to destroy it.
