Yahoo News/APFunny... I've had short people ask me for help to get things from a shelf at the store too. I just assumed the short person couldn't reach. It never occurred to me that I might have been the victim of racism, or that I ought to be offended. And Michelle is a couple inches taller than I am. Can these people possibly get any more petty, narcissistic and shallow?

Well, that's just it. This story reminds me of the whole pathetic mess the left has made of the UVA story. In that story, a leftist writer went looking for college 'rape culture' instead of 'racism.' In order to report on it, she had to make a bunch of crap up, and yet the left still insists there is a 'larger truth' to it. In this case, we've got a reporter looking for 'racism' and they've ended up with Michelle Obama complaining because a short person asked her (a tall person) to reach something she couldn't reach. And yet we're asked to believe there's a 'larger truth' to racism as well. You would think of 'campus rape culture' and 'racism' are a serious problem, the media would be able to come up with SOME ACTUAL EXAMPLES. This isn't to say rape and racism don't exist. Indeed, Michelle's suggestion that a fellow human being asking her for a little help is an example of racism is, itself, an example of racism. But neither problem exists on any sort of large scale in this country.

What did I say about stories that have a political agenda in another thread?

I am not buying their stories. I donno. It seems perfectly within the First Lady's personality to assume someone asking her for a little help at Target is racist. In fact, the incidents of Obama being mistaken for a valet aren't really racist either. For the same reason it wasn't racist when Valarie Jarrett thought a 4-star general was a waiter LINKWhile it's true that all racism is stupid, it is not true that all stupidity is racism. The first family had better learn the difference.

The secret service would not have allowed a random person to approach the first lady.

The secret service would not have allowed a random person to approach the first lady. I think she was more upset that the person didn't know who she was ......

The secret service would not have allowed a random person to approach the first lady. Geez, you mean the Obama's made something up. And without Gruber's help too. What is this world coming to?

The Obamas have made all of us victims of racism.

Obama never does a lick of work or anything useful and gets to be President.
He should be thankful for reverse racism getting him where he is today.
Set for life.

It doesn't surprise me that Michelle would say this. On the basis of her past statements it seems clear to her that she believes any reversal a person of color experiences is because of a white racist somewhere. She's obsessed with being a victim.

Don't forget the burden of gratitude he owes several idiotic Republicans, starting with Jack Ryan in Illinois and finishing with George W. Bush. Their failures paved his road to the Oval Office. No way in the world an inexperienced, marginally talented man gets that far, that fast without that help.

The secret service would not have allowed a random person to approach the first lady. Certain of that? They seem to have suffered from a serious case of poor leadership and internal incompetence for at least a decade.

She is obsessed with being a victim because it reenforces the left wing narrative that blacks are incapable of advancing without government help. If she, the Presidents wife, is a victim then no other black has a chance either. Fear! It helps keep them in the fold.

The secret service would not have allowed a random person to approach the first lady. What are they going to do, empty the store before she goes in?

they just want to act like ordinary folks, president went to the burger joint, the president invited 2 guys to the white house for a beer, goes to a factory and mingles around with his sleeves up like he might lift something up and act like he's working.

Obama is, and always has been, FAR too privileged for that.

I don't know if you're being facetious or not, but, yeah. They have done things like that. Presidents in this country are either very fearful, or their minders are.
