March is typically peeper time when this snow crap goes away and the wonderful peeper song of spring is heard. I can't wait.

They had chicks in the feed store when I was in there the other day. Heh. If you'd told me ten years ago I'd live near a feed store I wouldn't have believed you.

I suspect it will take some sustained warmer temperatures. There may not be as many this year, a lot of those little ponds froze solid. That won't kill all the eggs, but it will kill some of them.

Nearest Home Depot is in Salisbury, a store that I will not deal with, I sold them some material, making a special effort to get it to them the next day and it took them 9 months to pay. Screw them.

I agree. They gave me a hard time about some gates I orded and paid for. Two months later I have a fence built with no gates. They had a pile of them out back and were a stock item.

That's right, you own a nursery. Would it surprise you to learn that I attended a seminar when I worked for a large corporation you'd recognize, and this was discussed? Basically they wanted us to ensure that *we* were paid promptly, while ensuring that we did *not* pay vendors quickly. The idea was to earn on the spread. Some people here may think I have an ideological problem with large corporations, or merely speculate that they are run by rotten people. Untrue. I have first hand experience.

This time if year I can stand at my kitchen sink doing dishes and the small steam on my property line looks like a silver ribbon running through the woods. I know spring is close.

Sorry. Large corporations. Small corporations haven't had time to become corrupt. I have realized that people that think all businesses are corrupt will try to cheat you sooner or later I have never cheated anyone. My belief is that evil rises to the top. At each level people seeking promotion have certain tools. Mostly these are the same, skills and drive and suchlike. The immoral man also has tools like betrayal and backstabbing. Over time, they succeed slightly more often and this concentrates them at the top: social evolution. The larger the corporation, the more levels of promotion and the greater the concentration of immorality at the top. The immoral people who reach those levels regard what they do as "competitive drive" and not "rat bastard behavior". When they recognize it in others they like it. This is basically the human survival instinct mapped into social behavior. People like to pretend that because they are self-aware and thinking creatures that they can rise above what instinct drives them to do. And some can. But most cannot.
