US Summer Forecast: Northeast to Endure More 90-Degree Days Than in 2014 After a cooler-than-normal summer of 2014, the East overall is forecast to be hit by more 90-plus degree days this summer. In Philadelphia and New York City, there may be as many as 10 more than last summer. For much of the summer, the central and southern mid-Atlantic will come alive with showers and thunderstorms. Ah, summer! Don't send it away!! I think we need "seasonal travel agents". What they do is allow you to chase your favorite season around the world. They do this by purchasing resorts in both hemispheres, and clients pay for the travel. You set it up like a timeshare, because for every person who loves summer there's bound to be one who loves winter; they switch places twice a year.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk for severe weather from western Massachusetts through northern Virginia and West Viriginia. This means severe thunderstorms may develop through this area in the afternoon and into the evening. There will also be the possibility of dangerous tornadoes causing damage well into the evening. Residents are urged to monitor local weather conditions and be prepared to protect life and property. www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/US/MD/Baltimore.html

A batch of storms gathering strength over the central Plains at midweek will torment areas from the Ohio Valley into the mid-Atlantic. The storms will target the Ohio Valley on Thursday into Thursday evening. While the exact intensity of the individual storms at the local level cannot be determined this far out, there is the potential for damaging wind gusts, hail and frequent lightning strikes. A couple of tornadoes could develop in the strongest of storms. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/severe-storms-to-blast-ohio-valley-mid-atlantic-damaging-wind/49207971

Oh no Cowboyz, horrible news. There were tornado warnings in the area, wonder if a small one was near you. I wouldn't say tornado, there would have been lot more damage.
It's manageable damage, my son and husband can take care of it. I'm not involving my homeowners insurance.

After powerful thunderstorms struck the Northeast early in the week, the weekend will end up being very wet for many with an elevated risk of flooding in some areas. According to AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams, "A storm from the Midwest will grow in size and gather moisture as it heads through the Northeast this weekend."
