If she has truly wiped the server clean, rather than just deleting the emails, that would end her chances at the presidency in a sane country. Deleting emails doesn't really get rid of them. IT people can get on those hard drives and retrieve the stff that hasn't already been written over. But if she has truly wiped the drives clean, that takes a bit of effort. And I'd say that world constitute a deliberate destruction of evidence.

And then there are other real "sycophants" who think she is... simply because she's a Clinton...

"Last October, nearly two years after she left office, the State Department sent her a letter requesting all government records, like emails, she may have possessed.
In response, she provided the State Department in December with about 30,000 printed emails that she said were government records. She has said that an additional 30,000 emails were personal.
Mrs. Clinton cannot make the emails public without the State Department’s approval. Mr. Kennedy said that if the State Department determined that any of the documents were classified, “additional steps will be required to safeguard and protect the information.” Mrs. Clinton has said she had no classified information in her emails."[/u]
Clearly a witch hunt by the Republicans... Ms Clinton should tell them to just kiss her ass...

There's no reason to wipe the server unless you're hiding something. And I suspect we now know WHY she had her own email server. Whatever she didn't want people to know... I don't guess we'll know, now.
Voters should consider this action in 2016.

Absolutely... some people still like their privacy... (and the server was set up for Bill, not Hill... she just kept it)... especially in this era of these damn rogue Republicans looking for something to make something out of that really isn't there... and that's basically ALL they want to do to the Clintons... because they hate 'em... they represent a threat to the republicans agenda...
I don't own my own server... but I delete a lot of emails simply because I don't want to keep 'em... not because I have anything to hide... and my private world is as important to me as her private world is to her...

But if you did have something to hide, you're surely not going to keep 'em... Speculation that she had something to hide is just as valid as speculation that she had nothing to hide. Note that the defining term in her situation is "wiped." "Wiped" means more than just "deleted." "Wiped" means to destroy the data such that it's no longer recoverable. For example, there are essentially two ways to destroy data stored on hard drive: 1) physically destroy the hard drive's platters (shredding, crushing, burning, etc.), or degauss those platters with sufficient magnetic strength to render those platters useless, and 2) repeatedly write, and rewrite the hard drive's platters such that there are no more latent images of the data. Procedure number 2 is what's done to classified (or unclassified) data on a hard drive to render the hard drive as "clean" or "empty" so it can be used again for data storage. If her server's hard drive(s) were not physically destroyed, then procedure number 2 was performed on it(them).

You're not a high level government employee whose thinking would be of interest to historians and voters, either. And, "deleting a lot of emails" is not the same thing as "wiping a server".

If there was no evidence of criminality, why wipe the drive? Why keep anything that's of no value to you?... just toss it... You are apparently unfamiliar with the difference between 'deleting e-mails' and 'wiping a server.' When you 'delete' something on a computer, all you're doing is telling the computer you no longer need what's in that spot on the hard drive. The data is still there until the machine decides to over-write what's in that spot, and it's recoverable should it be subpoenaed. "Wiping" a hard drive takes much more effort, and deliberately destroys the data. When e-mails have no value to you, you delete them. When e-mails are a threat to you, you 'wipe the server.'

I probably knew that long before you did...
And they can just as easily be wiped when they are no threat to you... and your don't want these a-holes rambling through your personal business either... I don't blame her...

I don't blame her... Do you call your government breakfast companions in DC by that name? Do you "delete" all the information about your real estate investments when the IRS inquires? Or does documentation and compliance only apply to others?

I don't blame her... Then why are you acting like you have no clue what 'wiping a server' means? And no, it's not just as easy. In fact, to really do it right, you've got to degauss the hard drives. That means pulling them out of the machine and running it through special equipment. In short, the difference between 'deleting an e-mail' and 'wiping a server' is the rough equivalent between tossing a paper document in the recycling bin, and eating it.

I didn't... when I want something removed... I simply call my computer man... just like she obviously did... and I'm glad she did... now all you can do is wonder what she might have deleted... rather then building a mountain out of a molehill out of that which she didn't... likely the best thing she could have possibly done... to hell with you Clinton haters... if you don't like her... vote for someone else... Now, I'm going over in the cow field... the cow shiit smells better over there than the bull shiit does here...

Wondering what she disposed of is going to cause a lot of people to believe she was up to her eyeballs in criminality. If she did wipe this stuff, there's no way to exonerate herself. Of course, that IS the reason she wiped this data - because not being able to exonerate yourself is better than your enemies having proof of your criminality. That's the ONLY reason to do what she did.
