Not well enough known any longer to gain real traction. I'd consider him, too, but I don't see him competing with various GOPers, nutty as some of them are, who already have a national footprint.

Sensible Republicans either never get any where OR lose touch with the middle on social issues to get the nomination.
Its much the same with Dems on economics though.

I don't have anything against him, per se.... But no one knows who he is outside of Maryland, and there are better options. I saw a piece on TV Sun. morning about O'Malley's potential bid for the job and it pointed out that most of the Dems in NH didn't know who O'Malley was.

But not having a clue who these people are is an ASSET for Democrats. Not so much for Republicans. See: Obama, Barack.
