For anyone who hasn't heard yet, shutout lost his son this past weekend. I was saddened to read about this on Facebook this evening, it's absolutely shocking. I've included a link below to his obituary page. For any of you that might be interested, there is a suggestion for donations to go in Connor's name to a memorial fund to help improve diabetic care. Obit Shutout - I am so very sorry for your loss, I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Stay strong.

I'm so sorry for your loss, shutout. No parent should have to bury a child. I can't imagine how painful that would be. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Thanks everyone. As my son used to say. Get busy living or get busy dying. He made the most of his 27 years on earth.

Thanks everyone. As my son used to say. Get busy living or get busy dying. He made the most of his 27 years on earth. I'm pretty sure we tasted some of his work some years ago at Baldwin's Station, but we never managed to follow him to other establishments. More missed opportunities...

I was the last person to speak at his service and touched on missed opportunities and how after my brother died in May Connor told me we need to quit talking and start doing. Not epic adventures but making time to eat together, cook out more, work on a project together, invite people over that we have been wanting to see, read that book that has been laying there for months. We did just that. I have no regrets of how my last four months were with my son. Largely because he challenged all of us to experience the simple, obtainable, yet important things in life.

My sincere condolences. Stay strong and positive. Thank you. One foot in front of the other. I have many good memories and great family. We will make it. Connor wouldn't want us to stop trying to enjoy the simple things in life. He always embraced the simple things.
