Share your memory
Working at DOD contractor AAI Cockeysville MD, got back from lunch and found people crying around a radio. Thought maybe the USA was attacked and we were at war. Found out what happened and began crying myself. A day I will never forget.

I was a Junior in high school, we were watching it in class as my science teacher was one of the applicants to be the teacher on that launch.

I was working in Phoenix and had a little tv I had brought to work just to watch the launch. I too had a friend that was an applicant, he made it to the last 100 to chose from.

I could go the rest of my life without watching that again.

I think this is like the JFK assassination, most everybody remembers where they were when they heard about it.
I was on lunch break from APG. I just went in the Kmart in Aberdeen and everyone was running toward the electronics department to watch the TV's. Sad day.
