We now have our son and teen-age grandchildren living with us. Hubby is frantically building two more bedrooms even as I type. Hopefully, the kids will just be happy manning the door and handing out the treats. If not, I see zombies descending on the neighbors.

We were invited to a party this past weekend but couldn't make it because our son was in town! I miss dressing up and I miss having small ones at Halloween!

Our grandson got a Power Ranger costume. We went to a party Saturday night and I was surprised how popular Power Rangers are this year! I didn't buy a costume this year. Too cheap. I have four costumes hanging in my closet to choose from!

My nephew was the red Power Ranger when he was little and they couldn't get that costume off of him for weeks, he wore it everywhere he could and to sleep!! Funny, we just talked about that last weekend!!

Yeah he was. He always reminded us he was a GOOD Power Ranger! I just washed it and put it in his clothes drawer. I have a feeling he will wear it the next time he comes over!

I really miss dressing up and having trick-or-treaters but we're in a rural area and no one comes around here. Up the street a few blocks away in the big modern homes they do, but not on this hairpin end of the road. I still decorate the house with vintage pumpkin ornaments and tiny pumpkin lights at the window, and I don't rake leaves until I have to, because I want to enjoy my favorite time of year for as long as I can.

I do love my community at Halloween, everyone gets into it and we usually have a lot of trick-or-treaters! I would miss that for sure....

My husband and I were talking about Halloween traditions recently and he recalled when he was a kid that the night before Halloween was called "moving around" night. I had never heard that term before and asked him if he meant "mischief night" instead. Does anyone remember either term? Kids would go out and soap car windows, move garbage cans around, etc.

My wife is super crafty - she made an octopus costume for little man (he's a sea creature every year, loves the sea, fish etc); 13 yo daughter is a zombie Disney princess (hates Disney...).
We live is a killer trick-r-treat zone and we t-r-t for a bit and then give out candy the rest of the evening. Its especially fun to see neighbors out on their stoops, a great city holiday.

My son wanted to be Rasta Obama- Obama mask, fake dreadlock hat...he had to settle for Dreadlock Hippie...I would not let him carry fake giant joint....Teenagers..And I nixed the Obama mask-- no need to have liberals getting all pissed off! Even if they are handling out tofu instead of candy...

I've let my beard grow out, put on my camo, poured myself a sweet tea, and went as Uncle Si.
