Sour grapes.
It's amazing how gleeful you are at a program failing and people not having insurance. What the heck is wrong with you?

And unless those folks can find affordable coverage--Barrycare IS a failure. I hope they do-- otherwise, they and their families are going to suffer.

What's wrong with expecting failure to fail? You have to remember rocketwolf, that only those of us with an IQ over 50 expected this to fail. For everyone else, who were completely unable to see the farking obvious, this failure was completely unexpected. Which is why "unexpectedly" has become the left's favorite word recently.

I'm thinking that the people who predicted failure are supposed to ignore it.

I'm thinking that the people who predicted failure are supposed to ignore it. Especially those who are unable to get cancer treatment after being cancelled.

My concern, and the reason I posted this thread, is that I have CareFirst BlueChoice. I have not yet heard from them, but if I lose my coverage, it will ruin me financially. Which means, of course, that my children will likewise be subject to severe financial consequences. I can't afford to pay for the medical services that I and my children need. For that reason, I secured health insurance that would enable me to obtain needed medical treatment from the doctors I have been with for the last twenty-five years. If I lose that, I have no idea what I will do.

It's obvious the street drugs aren't diluted up north. Sour grapes when someones insurance gets dicked up when he didn't even vote for the bastard because he KNEW what was going to happen? Now that we and some of congress knows whats in it, it stinks like stuff.

People who've had their insurance cancelled will be able to purchase new plans. They just won't be able to buy insurance, anymore, because of all the "free" mandates Obama's so proud of.
Apparently, even with an HSA (best idea for health care funding to come down the pike in my lifetime), several things must be paid for by the insurer, not the patient. (Think: flu shots.) This has to increase the premiums.
Also, even with an HSA, the insurer must cover 60% of all annual medical costs--that's the "Bronze" plan, lowest coverage permitted by law. For healthy people-- the kind who visit doctor a dozen times over 40 or 50 years-- premiums must rise because the HSA funds are no longer allowed to cover 100% of annual costs. This will encourage "third-party payer" price increases.
If the funds are used for anything but health care-- say a job is lost, and you have to live off savings-- the penalty has been increased from 10% to 20%. That's a pretty big bite for anyone who's going through a bad patch.
So, it's not like 73,000 Marylanders will be without insurance on Jan 1. It'll just cost them a bit more, while simultaneously halting the "disinflation" of overall health care costs things like HSA's and walk-in clinics had begun.

It's amazing how gleeful you are at a program failing and people not having insurance. What the heck is wrong with you? I call it a schadengasm. And, yes, I do like to see bad ideas fail. It's how people realize they're bad ideas. And it's how their architects get invited to leave the public debate, as they should. I'm hoping the people who lose their insurance think long and hard about who they vote for and remember who did this to them, in the fall of '14 and '16.

the president said I can keep my plan- that's great except my son had cancer and the provider raised my monthly premium a $1,000 dollars a month. I would now pay $2,200 a month to keep my plan and that's with a $3,000 deductible. I am forced to join the socialist hospital plan that doesn't look at pre- existing conditions- sure they won't look at your background and passed bills

I'm kinda stuck where i can go at this point. Sounds like your best bet is a gold plan, costs more but doesn't have that expensive deductible.

I'm kinda stuck where i can go at this point. You are now expected to demand a single payer system loud and long until enough of you do until liberals can say look it what we need to do. When enough law makers fall for it, the second half of the "affordable" health care rape will continue
