It's already like that. Maryland's three most urbanized areas control its politics. And the Democrats would love to write that large, which is why when you hear someone advocating the end of the college, it's usually a Democrat. The cities are full of gimmes, natural Democratic voters.

The cities are full of gimmes, natural Democratic voters. Particularly if they feel betrayed by the EC, as they did in 2000. There are more than a few Republicans who have lost their fondness for the concept as well. It's a real shame that life in the modern political fishbowl is so challenging. I'm sure there's a Thomas Jefferson out there today who's simply not up to exposing himself and his family to the search for meaningless personal warts that is modern political life.
