It's the American League, not American Conference

ALCS = American League Championship Series, Ravenchamp. No "conference" in it.

Does not look like they will be going any farther. They're being decisively outplayed by the Royals so far. Only defensively are they better, and not enough for it to matter.

Both games, however, were eminently winnable for the Orioles. They've hit the Royals' starters, and they've had their chances against Kansas City's vaunted bullpen. Trouble is, the Orioles' starters have been horrific, combining for just nine IP in the two games thus far.
I thought Adam Jones' at-bat in the seventh was absolutely abominable. With runners on first and second, no outs and a tie game, his job is to get that runner over to third. Instead, he tries to be a hero and hit a five-run homer, winds up flailing at three straight pitches and strikes out. That's just unacceptable.
What really stands out for me is that the Royals, who finished last in the majors in walks this season, have had five leadoff walks in the two games. They've had 38 baserunners and have gone down 1-2-3 just once in 19 innings. They've also hit four homeruns to the Orioles one, yet have managed just one stolen base. This is a team that was within an eyeblink of losing their playoff lives against Oakland, yet they rallied and have been riding that wave ever since.
If the Orioles are going to rally to win this series, they're going to have to fly in the face of history since no team in the history of the ALCS has ever come back to win after losing the first two games at home.

The O's sure choked in the 9th, not looking good

I'm not totally giving up yet, but they can't play from behind every inning. they have to get some decent SP. If Chen lays another egg, it's over. The royals are super hot (losing record in extra innings during the season, 4-0 post season, #9 hitter with 4 homers a-la Caleb, broken bat hits, swinging bunts). Sometimes it happens & nothing you can do about it. Maybe they are due for some bad luck.

If the O's don't win 2 in KC, it will be almost impossible to recover enough to win this AL series.

Right now, the Orioles pitchers are choking. The moment has proven too big for them so far.

Very disappointing to win 96 games and get rolled in the ALCS by a team that won 89 and barley won the wild card game.

I thought Chen pitched well enough to win tonight, and Gausman has been outstanding out of the bullpen. But when you only score one run. . .
If this dink and bloopfest ends tomorrow, I will officially not give a rat's patootie about the World Series.

It's really amazing how close this series is to being 3-0 the other way right now. The only plausible explanation is "That's baseball."

Real baseball fans will watch the WS because they are fans of the game not just the laundry.

Real fans of a team know that it's not just about the laundry, but the traditions, the memories, and the togetherness that an entire city or state can feel when they're behind them.
I have skipped several World Series' when I didn't care for either team. Like the NY vs NY series a while back.
I will probably only watch this one if St Louis advances. I can't stand SF.
