The Redskins lost, which skewed my football pool, so the Ravens better win. I hate to sound like a broken record but dammit they have to win!!!

Whoever loses this game will arguably be the best last-place team in the NFL.

That fumble by Taliaferro really seemed to turn the game away from the Ravens. Just when it looked as if maybe the Ravens could move down and score again, they cough the ball up and the Steelers were able to tie the score. The momentum shifted at that point, and Pittsburgh has been in control since that point.

I swear, I just cannot listen to Jerry Sandusky and those two clowns with him on WBAL. It's OK to root for the home team, but to come out and say that the officials have an agenda after a couple of calls went against the Ravens? That just defies any modicum of professionalism.

Thats what Ravens people do. They blame the NFL, and Refs for hating them. Always have always will

Roethlsberger is carving the Ravens' defense into hamburger while it's still on the hoof.

Steelers beat Ravens 43-23, a rough night indeed.
It seems the early turnover changed the game and it went downhill from there.

Roethlsberger is carving the Ravens' defense into hamburger while it's still on the hoof. Some of the worst secondary play I can recall on any Ravens teams since 1997. Game went pretty much as I expected - missing Jimmy Smith against a red hot passing attack was a major setback. Ravens were able to mask it early with pressure, but you just knew eventually Ben would escape a few times and hit Brown for big gainers. That was an ugly game for a lot of reasons.

They spanked us and sent us back to training camp. What a humiliation!

Webb looks done and the rest of that secondary looks like practice squad material. Joe showed no pocket poise yesterday; when the pressure came he went full lunkhead and that turnover led to Steeler points. He couldn't find his wide receivers - if it weren't for tight ends they'd have had no passing game at all. And they've got one running back who's any good. Offensive line manhandled - very inconsistent this year. It sure seems to me like a hallmark of Harbaugh is his frequent inability to get both halves the team to play hard all four quarters of a game. The sole bright spots: Smith's early TD catch, and Jones' return for a touchdown (but the whole time we're wondering if he's going to fumble).
They pretty much have to go no better than 5-2 if they expect to appear in the playoffs. The Saints seems like a certain loss, but a lot of the other teams are weak teams like they've already beaten this year. They might be able to do it, if Jimmy Smith isn't out too many more games and if Webb can fix his problems.
Bengals and Steelers fighting for first, Ravens and Browns fighting for third. Right now, they're looking UP at the Browns. You never want to be there.

Of course Suggs is the one that starts stuff He should have been ejected for that cheap shot. Contemptible. Guys get seriously hurt by moves like that. Evidently Hines Ward rubbed off on him during that pre-game interview.

Right now, they're looking UP at the Browns. You never want to be there. Yup, 10-6 is what the need to reach. Schedule favors it, but that secondary is so unbelievably bad, they are fully capable of losing multiple games to teams they most certainly should beat. I think you're right, they'll probably lose to the Saints, and to one other team on the road that they should beat, like Miami or Houston. The good news is that the Steelers and Bengals haven't played each other yet, and the Bengals and Browns still have to play each other too. I think that Harbaugh's hallmark(and I'm not complaining too much given he's a champion coach, and gotten the team into the playoffs 5 out 6 years, and the Ravens have the second best record in the NFL during his tenure), is that his teams tend to play down to their competition. They had this game under control in the first quarter, and looked like they were going to dominate, just as they did in their previous game with them, but then the rookie fumbles, Flacco gets picked trying to throw the ball away, and next thing you know they are down 22-10. Couple that with several dropped interceptions, and a gift wrapped onsides kick that they couldn't secure, and you get what you get. Let's not even get started with the stupid penalties...

I'm inclined to think that first early TD was just dumb luck.

Always have always will Right, no other fans of NFL teams do that, ever As bad as the Ravens got their ass kicked they have the guts to blame the ref for the loss. They loss by 20 points, thats not on the refs. Since, im a Ravens fans I really dont hear the other teams fan complian about the refs maybe they do, maybe they dont. But, it seems like every loss the Ravens have its the Refs that fault. The got their ass handed too them plain and simple. I've never liked Suggs never while. He's a dirty player who runs his mouth more than anything. He had 1 really good year and has been medicore ever since

Last week the refs did steal the game, with a very dubious late game offensive pass interference call. This week? The penalties were just lunkheaded. The kind of thing poor teams do when they realize they're being outplayed by better teams.

If there are any positives, it's that the Ravens only have one division game left while Cincinnati still has four, including two against Pittsburgh. They also get four of their final seven games at home, while the Bengals have five of their last eight on the road. Cincinnati also has to visit Denver in the penultimate week. Pittsburgh has four of its next five away from home, although against designated dregs such as the Jets, the Titans and the Falcons. But the Steelers, like the Ravens, have struggled when performing in enemy stadiums.
With their Swiss cheese secondary, the Ravens can at least take comfort in knowing that they'll likely face only one more premier quarterback in Drew Brees (unless, of course, Philip Rivers and the Chargers can get their act together). They're simply not good enough to take on the league's best passers.
