I don't believe there is a statute of limitations on rape... and while I don't have a clue as to whether hi is guilty or innocent, these women aren't necessarily coming forward to let the world know what this man is... but maybe what he may have been in the past... most all of us have done things in the past that we'd rather undo or forget... And any woman who is given a couple of pills and told to take them... and does... or accepts more than just a couple of drinks... shares at least equally in the blame for whatever takes place afterwards... News Flash:
SOUTHERN "GENTLEMAN" ENDORSES RAPE OF STUPID WOMEN.
NANCY PELOSI RETIRES TO CONVENT.
EXTRA... EXTRA... EXTRA... READ ALL ABOUT IT... NORTHERN MAN LIES ABOUT SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN... NOT UNEXPECTED... But give him a break... he can't read... "...shares at least equally in the blame for whatever takes place afterwards..." It ain't the women who are "stupid" around here... And Mom likes the lie...

Really sad to think he gets away with it because no one kept a "stained dress" or have "proof". He said, she said is right. That's the tricky thing about rape and it's even worse when you are man in some type of power position over the victim. They waited because they were scared, they had a lot to lose at the time. It is sad. I never said it was good or right, just that this is how it works when the powerless go against the powerful. We like to believe we have an egalitarian society, but the truth is that we don't, really. Justice very much depends on how wealthy you are and who you know.

All of the sudden?? In doing a little research... this isn't all of the sudden. There have been plenty of accusations over the years.
Convicted? So far it seems most of the accusations are beyond the statute of limitations. I hardly believe there will be criminal charges.
Maybe his victims are tired of him being branded as Americas Dad and would like the world to know him for what he really is??
Not all women who share their story of rape are doing it for money. Maybe his victims are gaining strength in numbers.
Any thought on why this story continues to rear it's ugly head if there is no truth to it?
I'm beginning to believe there is something to it.... makes me sad. I've always really admired him.

It varies from state to state. In Maryland there's no limitation, but in other states prosecution typically must commence anywhere from five to seven years from the commission of the crime.

Damn right... even more so... Of course I was referring to women who are seen as the weaker victims in man/woman sexual encounters... IMHO, sounding just like a "Good Old Boy" with that caveman mentality the more you type- how sad. So, a woman accepts a drink from a man who is held in high regard in his profession and touted by both others and himself as someone she should seek out for pointers on her career. He intentionally drugs her drink so that she will pass out. Suddenly, what the man knowingly decides to do to her while she is unconscious becomes her fault for being trusting, really?!? I would say the woman is the weaker victim in this scenario since the man has deliberately rendered her unconscious without her consent. Being naïve is not a crime, taking advantage of that to break the law is.

Sounds to me like somebody wants a little of the man's $$$... at 77, he should be retired already anyway... I hope he won't live to spend the $$$ he already has... and I hope he lives a long time... It's hasn't been that long ago that Cosby was being praised... especially challenging young Black men to be responsible and make something of themselves... now somebody is trying to make a goat out of him... Yeah an accused serial rapist is easy to make a goat out of.

I believe some of these women chose to spend time with Cosby in hopes that it would help their career or something like that and they didn't get what they expected to get out of it. Now they want "back pay".

Now they want "back pay". That doesn't make what he's accused of doing right. It's never okay to force yourself on a woman, or to drug her and then rape her. If they wanted something from him and he told them, "sure, I'll make you famous but only if we have sex" that would be prostitution, but at least they would have done it voluntarily. I actually don't have a problem with prostitution by itself, regarding violent crimes as far worse. Frankly, I don't care what arrangements two consenting adults make regarding sex (note that I am not discussing the common "business model" where pimps and other criminals are involved, which is entirely different). But what Cosby is accused of having done isn't that. What he's accused of is rape. If he did it, he is an entirely different person than everyone thought. Like Joe Paterno, who for decades shielded a child-rapist, turned out to be.

Being naïve is not a crime, taking advantage of that to break the law is. It always pays to be very careful who you trust... trusting in the wrong people is your own fault... And as for your "Good Ole Boy" and "Caveman" mentality comments... I didn't say "I" see women as the weaker... (personally, I like strong women)... I said they "are seen as the weaker victims"... and as you point out in your comments, in this incident, she seems to have been just that...

Now they want "back pay". These women couldn't possibly have been so dumb as to think something like this was not possible... or even probable... about as dumb as Paula Jones willingly going up to Bill Clinton's room at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock thinking that late at night he just wanted to say... "Hi, Paula"... And at least one of those women claims to have had sexual relations with Cosby more than once since that first encounter... one said several times... Give me a break, Ladies... I hope you're not that dumb...

One can reach no other conclusion when you attempt to blame the woman when a man has sex with her after she is incapacitated regardless of how she came to be that way.

"And any woman who is given a couple of pills and told to take them... and does... or accepts more than just a couple of drinks... shares at least equally in the blame for whatever takes place afterwards..."
I'm pretty sure you know you step in it with that statement and now you're in all out tap dancing mode to try and deny that you said under certain circumstances a woman must share the blame for being raped.
Word up - a woman shares no blame whatsoever if she is drugged and then raped. Got it? No blame. None. Ever.
With your mindset on this issue I'll bet you think that a prostitute can't be raped.
You may not continue with your Savion Glover imitation.

Didn't do that... blamed 'em both... because they're both responsible...

Yeah...and had Paula Jones not gone up to Ole Bill's room voluntarily, she couldn't accuse him of showing her his pecker, could she?... What I said... and what you quoted from me... is 100% true... surely no woman is dumb enough to deny that... and you... unbelievable that you would even suggest it's not true... I "think" you're a man...

Yeah an accused serial rapist is easy to make a goat out of. Yep... especially when they aren't a serial rapist... BTW... have you ever been accused of doing something sexually that you've never done?... never even thought about doing?... to try to get something out of it?... He may not be, but the amount of smoke is getting hard to breath.
And no I haven't been accused of it. Ive been smart enough to not invite women (or underage girls) to my room and give them booze (possibly laced with drugs) so that they wake up wondering why their panties are on the floor.
He may be innocent, he may be guilty but it will be never known for sure. I have no way of knowing so my speculation is just that.
I will say this Im very disappointed in him.

It's only getting smoky because of those blowing it... and I don't know of anybody being accused of inviting underage girls to their room here... but you're right... we'll never really know... those smoke blowers seem to have convinced you... And I agree... I always took 'em off whole they were fully aware...

So many women have come forward with similar stories that it is getting difficult for me to believe that Cosby isn't a rapist, now. The number's up to ten.
