The difference is, Carson DOES have experience. Not in politics, at least, not at a national level, but hospital politics can be as down and dirty as any place else. And he's accomplished something himself, not had teams build his "history" for him. He has. However, the consequences of failing at hospital politics are considerably less severe that the consequences of failing at national politics. There's a much bigger reason Carson will fail nationally: he's a religious extremist. He'll capture a segment of the Republican base that would never have voted for a Democrat, and therefore can be safely dismissed, while alienating all liberals and many moderates. Probably enough moderates to lose a national election. Arguably the single greatest ongoing mistake the G.O.P. makes is catering to that crowd, when that kind of faith is fading fast. If one expects to win the chariot race one must not hitch the chariot to the swaybacked old nag that's already got a date with the glue factory.

A third Bush or a second Clinton. Neither option seems particularly appealing. Ill take Jeb over Hilary or God forbid Warren. Well color me shocked!

And you seem to wonder why corporations are immoral Some people need moral guidance. I wonder the the Black's would vote? I seem to recall quite a lot of them are still religious.

Well color me shocked! I would be shocked if you don't vote for someone like Warren Indeed you probably would be. Unlike most of the political hacks here, I honestly don't know who I will vote for until a day or so before the election, hell, I've even been as late as hovering my pen over names in the voting booth.

And you seem to wonder why corporations are immoral Some people need moral guidance. Yes. But religious extremists are not a good source of that. They're a subset of religious people who are deeply intolerant of anyone different from them. In addition, it is perfectly possible to be moral and not religious. Right here we have an areligious person who objects to torture (me) and a very religious person who's okay with it (redleg). From this we can conclude that religion is neither necessary nor sufficient for morality.

Baldeagle Anyone who pays any attention at all during the (now 1.5 year) election cycle, listens to the speeches, examines the records etc, and is STILL undecided while they are in the voting both.....really needs to stay home.

Don't know about Jeb, my Gut tells me people just wouldn't want a 3rd in there. As far as Hillary, I think she just carries too much Baggage. The Far Left may Love her but here again my Gut tells me there's just too much suppressed hatred for her in the end. Bringing Romney back again would be a huge mistake I think. Christie now that the NY flap is over, I think he has a real shot at it. He showed he's a People person after Sandy. I think most Americans will remember that. I don't have a clue who the Dems will pull out of their hat. Christie turned me off when he was down here after Hogan's win. Hogan's up there talking about both parties needing to work together to make changes that count, Christie's at the mike spouting off like a child about his intense dislike of MOM. That definitely did not sit well with me, and I am not a MOM fan by any stretch of the imagination. Please keep those type of bully boy comments in NJ. I would hope that Carson is smart enough to realize that his personal religious beliefs can not take precedence if he would run. As much as religion is discussed, and the name of God included in any number of our important documents, this country was founded on the concept of the separation of Church and State for a reason.

It doesn't work like that freddfish. Three weeks ago Bill Cosby would have stood a chance of getting the Presidency... Long gone are the days that I used to vote as my father did, or as my peers told me. Now I'll continue to weigh up my options until polling day. IMHO, anyone who doesn't vote gives up their right to moan about the administration that they inherit.

Just wait till some woman comes along and accuses Ben Carson of something inappropriate... You mean like the organized slander campaign that the Democrats waged on Herman Cain a few years back?

If that floats your boat... yeah... *shrugs* Whatever. I know you're well connected in Democrat circles. It's good to know what sort of dirty tricks your side has planned. I'd say I don't understand why Dems are so terrified of black Republicans, but I already know. If the GOP manages to take away the "The Republicans are just a bunch of bitter old white men" meme, the Democrats are done as a political entity.
