I am serious, RJ. Apparently you're the one who isn't -- more unthinking partisanship tied with NRA talking points. You claim that the people who talked with/examined the shooter are not professional. Why? Because he ended up doing something that possibly or probably could not have been predicted? We don't know what was said, what tests, if any, were given. A judge heard a motion yesterday to determine if the shooter's mental health records and evaluations should be released. I don't know if he's made a final decision yet (haven't seen any news today). Until we have firm evidence that the professionals acted improperly or reached an erroneous conclusion, I'd recommend that amateurs like you keep quiet. "The professionals" ADMIT they acted unprofessionally, and failed to follow their own protocols. What consequence will they face? None. Rather, the innocent MUST BE PUNISHED to prevent them from thinking they have rights. It's only the mentally deficient, the criminal, and the deviant that will be allowed to have rights.

Whatever you say, RJ. You obviously know a lot more than any mental health professional, expecially since you've never interviewed the shooter and know almost nothing about his background. Are you available for counseling and therapy? And yet, you worship the "experts" that have diagnosed Trump as 'mentally unfit for office' despite them never having even spoken to him. I guess cherry picking your gods is ok in your world of make believe.

How many times have you threatened to kill someone? Said something like that in anger? Ever act on it? Saying something doesn't necessarily mean that there will be action. Sorry you can't see that. Again, stop jumping to conclusions with no evidence. Let's wait for the medical reports. When it's reported to the FBI, several times, when the subject of the reports has had police contact nearly 40 times in less than a year, when he's posting pictures of himself with the tools needed to carry out his threats, yes, he needs to be investigated. He wasn't. This is just another case of your heros, the "professionals" failing to do their jobs, and people dieing because of it.

It doesn't follow his agenda, and therefore can't be allowed to exist.

Wow. You're just living to deny reality today. Reality denies him. It doesn't follow his agenda, and therefore can't be allowed to exist. It's spooky how ridiculous the left are becoming on this. I would love to be able to rely on the police and other professionals to stop this sort of thing. Ideally before it happens, and if not, to at least be able to stop it in progress. Now, however, we find out the armed school resource officer also failed to confront Cruz. When the police/FBI can't/won't act, the left's insistence on disarming everyone else will only lead to ever higher body counts.

It was the Coral Gables police that actually went into the school. So, either the police weren't trained properly, were restrained from higher up for some reason, or were cowards. Any of those are unacceptable, and are simply more proof that the average citizen needs to be armed.

Broward County Sheriffs Office, like the FBI, also apparently didn't follow up on reports that Cruz might be planning on shooting up the school. Its time these agencies were held accountable. It would be different if this guy came out of the blue. But he didn't. There were dozens of opportunities to stop this, and get Cruz the help he needed. Going after guns will not stop this, but the police and FBI paying attention to all of the red flags these guys put off might.

Another, long term solution that no one will mention, much less actually take seriously, is putting God back in schools, letting teachers actually discipline their students again, either banning, or raising the age fro viewing violent movies and video games to 21, and prohibiting Hollywood, or the TV industries from using firearms to glorify violence. Stop the violent "music", or make it 21 to listen to it. Force the schools to actually teach instead of indoctrinate.

When seconds count, the cops are minutes away Or stand around for a few minutes until the shooting stops!

What they are really saying is "we only want the guns carried by the killers, because we need the bodies to push Socialism". The arguments against hardening the schools against attacks are not only hollow, nonsensical, and stupid, but point out that the Left needs dead bodies to push their agenda.

Shall we return to caning Roman Catholic boys for not reciting "anti-Popish" prayers? (Yes, that happened in Maine, long ago.) As for violent games, well, just as "No girl was ever ruined by a book," no boy went out and committed murder just because he played a video game. I'm all for disciplining children in school-- and expelling those who disrespect education. They keep others from learning. Determination to retain miscreants above all is, IMHO, the main reason public schools have stopped being an engine to lift the children of the poor out of poverty. Education is a privilege, and should be given only to those who value it. Schools should re-think their policies of "self-esteem" and "bullying." First off, self-esteem is fine, but winning the esteem of one's peers (and one's superiors) is infinitely better. One does not achieve that merely by thinking oneself "special". As for bullying, when it's defined as "not wanting to be friends with someone," there's a problem. The lawyerly excuse for school shooters is now, "He was bullied!" Yep, other kids didn't want to hang with him... but, when you consider he went on to shoot up a school, maybe those kids saw something about him that made them want to keep far, far away. Maybe, when bullying is reported, the first question should be, "Why YOU?" Remember, being a victim, of ANYTHING, does not automatically place a halo on one's head.

Maybe, when bullying is reported, the first question should be, "Why YOU?" Remember, being a victim, of ANYTHING, does not automatically place a halo on one's head. WBefore we banned God from the schools, we didn't have the chaos, violence, and mass shootings we have today. Religion defines morality, and enforcing morality in schools as well as homes helps curb the more base instincts of the human animal. As for games, no, no girl was ever ruined by a book, but kids that live their entire nonschool existence playing Warcraft, or some of the other graphic, violent games are being numbed to real world pain. When you combine that with mental illness, you get Cruz. No boy was ever ruined by exposure to firearms, either. Unless he views them the same way he sees them on his video games. The hysterical worship of abortion is another nail in the coffin. Those that are screaming loudest about "it's for the children" are the same ones that demand the murder of the unborn for any, or no, reason at all. When you devalue human life from conception, how do you expect kids, especially those that are mentally or emotionally challenged, to respect it later in life?
