We saw and advance screening of POMPEII last evening. Lots of action. Kiefer Sutherland plays a bad guy... Remember Mr. Eko from Lost? He's in POMPEII, too, and does a good job.
The special effects were fantastic.

Being something of a history buff I think that I would enjoy seeing this movie.

I saw it yesterday. Impressive CGI. Lame story. Lame acting. I was actually praying for the volcano to erupt and do away with some of the more annoying characters. But even that was overdone and went on for way too long. I mean the first one or two death-defying escapes are exciting; the fifty-seventh death-defying escapes in a row is pretty much duh. Anyway, if you’re really into CGI you might want to give it a try; otherwise, I’d wait for it to come to Netflixs.

Visited the place once many years ago, cool stuff BUT the victims went through one agonizing death forever encapsulated in time. The rickety old steam locomotive hugging the mountainside was awesomely scarey! Chug chug good n plenty good n plenty good n plenty .......
