Unbelievable, I hope he gets every penny he sues for! Certain amendments of the Constitution, which never get discussed, are so much more important than the one that does get discussed all the time.

Hey I would be happy with millions in damages, of course it will probably take a few years to collect. He can also look on the bright side that he got a free colonoscopy.

It seems that the "war on drugs" has claimed yet another casualty.
Freedom.

No doubt a bill will be sent to the guy for the colonoscopy.

No doubt a bill will be sent to the guy for the colonoscopy. My thought too! I wouldn't be at all surprised he gets a hospital bill and all the other bills that go along with it. Obviously, need to go to his lawyer.

The so-called wars on drugs and terror are tearing this country apart. End both now. Elect smart candidates.

All officers involved should be fired and their pensions forfeit. All litigators involved should be fired and disbarred. All medical professionals involved should be fired and have their licenses to practice medicine revoked. No one's employer or insurer should permitted to indemnify them against civil damages. Any awards the people involved can't pay, the city of Deming and Gila Regional Medical Center should have to pay. Their insurers should not be permitted to indemnify them against civil awards. You've got to start ruining some of the people who pull this crap or it will keep happening.

The actions of the cops and the medical people is well beyond rational behavior-I can't imagine what they were thinking or how this could possibly have a good outcome-if the allegations are true.

It really does have a smell doesn't it? I mean as told why would any of these officials do what is said they did? I think there is more to the story.

Elect smart candidates.I don't think "smart" candidates are willing to put themselves and particularly under the microscope required by a modern campaign. The cynic in me suggests that those people who are willing to run see a payoff that makes it all seem worth it, whether it's monetary or an ego booster, or perhaps both.

There's no excuse for police, prosecutors or doctors behaving like this was 1950s Hungary, no matter if the man had a jacket that weighed ten pounds. They need to be punished for it.

That takes me to my next theory about who selects our candidates for us. The media. Who is the media brought to you by.

Well we do only have this story, do you always jump to judge? I agree if this is accurate that there is no excuse, but frankly I don't believe most of what is printed as news.

Call me old fashioned but I do still believe in due process....no matter how heinous the offense. IF this thing actually gets into a courtroom and the facts are as presented in the op it's over in about 15 minutes and eckert is on his way to the bank with a VERY large check while the defendants will be looking for another line of work-which they'll need to pay the judgements. I, however, will never again be tight-assed in new mexico.

Sounds like he shoud count himself lucky that his bowel wasn't accidentally pierced during one of these multiple probes.
Forget the jurisdiction and time-line technicalities.
Tell me, instead, how the cops could tell someone wearing trousers was "clenching his buttocks." Seriously? Even if he was naked, it'd be hard to make a warrant-worthy case for "buttock-clenching."
Bg Brother is Watching! Resistance is Futile!
Do we all really want to live in a police state? Subject to anal probes on the whim of whomever?
