We drew Walt Coleman, one of the worst crews in the league.

Strangely, I'm not feeling particularly confident about this game.

the offensive line better open some holes or it will be a long day for the ravens

We drew Walt Coleman, one of the worst crews in the league. That means it'll be easy to top the two personal fouls against the Ravens that weren't last week.

My husband won tickets to this game, so this will be the first time I've ever been to a football game. I'm not feeling optimistic about a win though. Wish I was. :/

A helpful hint for the Ravens: the game begins at 1pm.

My husband won tickets to this game, so this will be the first time I've ever been to a football game. I'm not feeling optimistic about a win though. Wish I was. :/ I've been to two football games. One was a Colts game at Memorial Stadium the last year they played in Baltimore, and one at M & T against the Saints the last time they were in town Since Memorial Stadium was nearly empty, I'd have to rate the new stadium as top notch. We sat in an end zone corner on the upper deck, and that corner was the only place on the field I couldn't see from where I sat. (There was a contested catch made in that corner by the Saints that I didn't see until the replay on the big screen.) The place gets loud. Very loud, so you may want to take some ear plugs if you're sensitive to that. It'll start to get chilly about 4th quarter, so be ready for that. Do some homework, because there's a new bag policy this year at all NFL stadiums. You don't want to take something you'll have to leave at the gate. And...enjoy the game!

Thanks, douger. They provided us with a lengthy new rules sheet and I'm all prepared. I'm taking only a tiny shoulder purse and definitely taking earplugs. I really don't know what to expect. I think I will be more excited as the day approaches.

The Bengals have lost some key pieces on defense, and it's been a long time since the Ravens lost two in a row at home. This game is winnable for the Ravens, but the offense needs to strike early rather than sleepwalk through much of the first half.

Arron Rogers is down, fractured collar bone. Could be season ending for him.

I think I will be more excited as the day approaches. I've been to M & T more times than I can remember. You'll love it. A great layout that makes finding your seat real easy. The first thing you'll notice when you sit is that the field looks so small as compared to how it looks on TV. Something else you'll notice is that they will be playing, and then suddenly, between plays, the players will be wandering around and chit chatting to each other. You'll be like, "What in the world is going on?". That "free" timeout is a television timeout and if you were watching from home you would be watching commercials. Football was designed around being televised so they actually stop the game so the station can show commercials. I hope you have fun, and I'm jealous I won't be there. And it will, with all certainty, be VERY loud.

On paper the Ravens should beat the depleted Bengals.
Nothing about this team's desire leads me to believe they will live up to expectations.

Having always watched a football game from TV, I always wondered what happened during commercials, if I was missing anything. Interesting. Thank you!

The Ravens have no will to win, no coaching strategy and the defense is now in the doldrums as well.

My husband won tickets to this game, so this will be the first time I've ever been to a football game. I'm not feeling optimistic about a win though. Wish I was. :/ Maybe you being there will bring them luck! It can get VERY COLD if you're sitting on the shady side-keep an eye on the weather and layer well....if you can, get there early, wander around, and check out the tailgaters-if you look hungry enough you may be offered a chicken wing.

Actually, drjohnnyfever, our prize includes passes to VIP parking and the Raven's hospitality tent party, 10:30am to 12:30. I heard the food is supposed to be very good. I'm hoping that my presence will cause a win! A couple years ago when the Ravens were on a losing streak, we were out in a pub somewhere watching the game. I had my hair wound up in an official Ravens scrunchie that I'd bought and the Ravens WON that game and broke their losing streak! Some people at the bar were joking that no one wears scrunchies anymore, but what the heck, they won, so I should consider it a "lucky scrunchie."

If we do win this game, we have to build on it. Steelers won a game and fell right back into the hole.

Isn't this the win-or-die game? In other words, if they lose this game, is it mathematically impossible to recover the season?

Isn't this the win-or-die game? In other words, if they lose this game, is it mathematically impossible to recover the season? No. But it doesn't make things easier. If I recall, the Ravens are two and a half games out in the AFC North. Three wins by the Ravens and three loses by whoever is atop the division (currently Cincinnati) and it'll be the Ravens in the driver's seat for the division. There's a wildcard slot that's out there too, and the Ravens are two games out for that. If the Ravens were to win out their season, they'd be 11-5. There have been 11-5 teams not make it to the postseason but it doesn't happen often. The schedule ahead and the way they've been playing doesn't give a lot of hope for success. But it is possible.
