Ed's body broke down before his mind was prepared for retirement.

foolish move by the Jets
Updated: Thursday, November 14 2013, 11:57 AM EST Former Baltimore Raven Ed Reed was picked up by the New York Jets on Thursday, two days after being released by the Houston Texans. The New York Jets posted to Twitter Thursday morning, "We bolstered our secondary THURS, agreeing to terms with Ed Reed a day after the veteran S cleared waivers," followed by, "Ed Reed is expected to be on the practice field today with the Jets." If so, Reed would be back in Baltimore, playing the Baltimore Ravens on November 24th. On Wednesday Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the team had no plans to change its secondary personnel "at this time," adding, "He'll always be a Raven."

There might be enough gas in the tank to play in nickel and dime packages. It's costing the Jets less than half a mil to find out.

Thing is we know he's done, so did the Texans

I remember Moss being on 3 teams a couple of seasons ago. The season is not over yet. Ed could be back in a Ravens uniform for game 16.

I guess we'll see. They may feel they're not sufficiently deep at safety to make a run, and they're still in it. Hell, they're closer than the Ravens at 5-4.

I don't know that I'd throw in his vicinity. He's likely still a decent ball hawk. But he can't tackle any more and they really ought to run guys right at him and exploit that.

When Ray sat down , Ed should have sat right beside him.
