The article you linked to claimed the UK paid back an amount that was double the amount loaned (over a nearly 70-year period). I'll wager you would jump at a chance to buy a house with a 70-year mortgage that collected only an amount twice that loaned (i.e., the interest was an amount equal to the original loan). Especially since inflation was not figured in... Factoring in inflation, the UK got a deal on pennies on the dollar. One hell of a deal and that's if they actually paid it in full. Read the link, paid in full in 2006.

One hell of a deal and that's if they actually paid it in full. Read the link, paid in full in 2006. "In a nutshell, everything we got from America in World War II was free," says economic historian Professor Mark Harrison, of Warwick University. "The loan was really to help Britain through the consequences of post-war adjustment, rather than the war itself. This position was different from World War I, where money was lent for the war effort itself." Why would they need Keynes to negotiate the debt after it was over? Negotiate = pennies on the dollar but that's OK, it all worked out for the best now didn't it? You're welcome. I loan money to my youngest all the time, meh close enough usually works.

What about the $1-3 billion we give to Hamas?... The US does not give one cent to Hamas. linkMoney is fungible, so yes the US does give money to Hamas.

A classy person’s response to U.S. aid to Great Britain. "The lease and lend bill, as the House is aware, became law yesterday when it received immediately the signature of the President. “I am sure the House would wish me to express, on their behalf and on behalf of the nation, our deep and respectful appreciation of this monument of generous and far seeing diplomacy. "The most powerful democracy has, in effect, declared in solemn statute that they will devote their overwhelming industrial and financial strength to ensuring the defeat of Nazism in order that nations, great and small, may live in security, tolerance and freedom. "By so doing the government and the people of the United States have, in fact, written a new Magna Carta which not only has regard to rights and laws upon which a healthy and advancing civilization can alone be erected but also proclaims by precept and example the duty of free men and free nations, wherever they may be, to share the responsibility and burden of enforcing them."Winston L. S. Churchill House of Commons March 12, 1941 An ingrate’s response to U.S. aid to Great Britain. When a country has 2 1/2 years NOT fighting a war but supplying those countries that are fighting it, of course they are going to produce the arms to order, who wouldn't, it was a nice little earner? I don't see the logic of or reason for your post, unless you are going to claim that the US gave all those supplies to Britain and Co. For my money I'll go with the guy who actually lived through those times over a guy who has just read about them in books.

Britain paid back every penny of that agreement and stood alone against Hitler for 2 1/2 years while the US desperately tried to keep out of it. Those are two facts that you cannot refute. Your attempt to discredit me does not alter those facts.

Hamas is the military arm of the governing authority of Gaza. The governing authority received funds, ergo, Hamas received funds. Because money is fungible, funds received from other sources for the purpose of generic aid could be used to supplant US funds and be used for weapons, without violating US Law.

You have merely mirrored what has already been said by others. I have at no point said that Hamas has not acquired some of the aid, I just challenged the original statement that the US gave between 1-3 billion dollars of aid to Hamas, that statement was clearly incorrect, also hopelessly incorrect was the amount as the provided list shows that West Bank/Gaza only received 457,000 odd dollars in economic aid and zero in military assistance. Why is it that people here can't be honest, as I said, the US has not given any aid to Hamas, at no point did I say that Hamas hasn't received any of it? Using the extrapolations and contortions that have been used here I could conjure up some real juicy propositions/scenarios, if I was of a mind to.

Every cent provided by the U.S. for "humanitarian" aid frees up a cent for military and other purposes. This country is sending buckets of aid to Hamas, and more chillingly, is sending huge amounts of aid to numerous "countries" and other groups whose ethos is bent toward nothing other than the destruction of Western Civilization. Notions of Individual Liberty, Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech are anathema to Islam. And yes, the USA is funding them.

The fact that you don't understand that is typical.
