Still $ 2.02 here this AM... it's $ 1.92 just north of here in Meridian, Mississippi... People here are actually complaining about the lower gasoline prices... we here in South Mississippi are not only a part of "The Bible Belt"... but we are also, along with Louisiana and South Texas, a part of "The Oil Patch"... lot of offshore oil workers here... It ain't all good for everybody... As crude oil prices continue slipping, pink slips are mounting in the oil patch.
The latest: oilfield services provider Baker Hughes, which said Tuesday it plans to lay off about 7,000 employees - or about 11% of its workforce - in the wake of a nearly 60% drop in the price of crude oil.www.usatoday.com/story/money/2015/01/20/baker-hughes-latest-hit-by-oil-slump-to-lay-off-7000/22042433/

Do many people shop the price of fuel for their vehicles? It depends what you mean. I know of certain gas stations with high prices; I won't patronize them until that changes.

Do many people shop the price of fuel for their vehicles? Personally, I like to buy Shell... but when you think about it, at a five-cent per gallon difference in gasoline prices... 10 gallons is only $ .50 more... not enough to quarrel about... I'm getting my 35 gallons of gasoline later next week at Kroger with my $ .40 in fuel points... should cost me about $ 1.34 per gallon... (about $47)... I'm hoping to have even more fuel points for February... Lowest price here today: $ 1.73... (I remember when Clinton left office, it was $ 1.06 per gallon...)

Do many people shop the price of fuel for their vehicles? I have an app that gives me the best prices in my area. I only use that when I don't have Safeway Rewards.

Looks like prices may have bottomed out... some of the lowest prices around the Country have eased a bit higher in the last couple of weeks... enjoy it now... Summer is coming...

So you do shop price? Like Aboutwell said, (not a direct quote) a few cents here and there you don't save much. I paid 2.59 for diesel the other day. Same place I always go. I pass it on my way to work and on the way home.

Hey, Shutout... that 35 gallons of gasoline I'm buying this week with my Kroger fuel points... if it cost me as much as $ .10 per gallon more... would cost me only $ 3.50 more total... that ain't gonna break me...

Exactly. I usually let my daughter use my gas points anyway.

My wife ans I were in Front Royal, Va over the weekend. Found gas as low as $1.85. Traveling down Rt. 340 from Md to Va, gas was $2.29 in WVa to $1.99 to $1.85. I know it also depends on each states taxes and involves real estate costs. Pa raised gas taxes last year so ours is higher.
