Some place that looks fine as you drive through doesn't mean much. I hope there are changes there, that's why I hoped they would register voters and do some things to correct the imbalance in black and white power. Unless it's me doing the drive through... I can probably see and feel a place much better than you can... your ego is one helluva a lot bigger for sure

The grieving family both steals from and gets violent with each other. Hard to believe they share DNA with such a "gentle giant."

Looked fine to me... and I have traveled through that area on my way to the SL airport and other places a number of times... but of course, there's always hidden resentment when something like this happens... especially when the dead person is a member of the majority in the area... I do have a feeling that some changes are in the future for some of the elected offices in that area... nothing like something like this to wake a "sleeping giant" up... we'll see... And when I was growing up, Houston "looked fine". Unless you got into the wrong parts, then you didn't always survive the experience. Ferguson is no Houston... it's a burb of Greater St Louis... and I have been to both...

It is your ego that forces you to claim you are better than someone you don't even know. I didn't say I "am"... I said I "probably" am ... because I have traveled the U.S. extensively and like to get off the main roads and scout out the smaller towns, communities, and other places... (I've already been to all the major cities and other than Atlanta, don't have much use for them)... you really wouldn't believe me if I told you some of the places I've been... my wife doesn't believe it till I show her a picture of some of it... (and that's not braggin', it's just stating a fact because of your comments)... I don't have to know anyone to state that "probability"... but I'm sure sooner or later, somebody is going to be at least as good... maybe better... (a couple here may already be)... Check out "My favorite little town" on another forum here... and add your two cents... or more... you'll be very welcome...

No, the ability to get a "good" or "bad" feel for a town or community because of experience doesn't necessarily require a comment/response...

It is your ego that forces you to claim you are better than someone you don't even know. Well, that, and he uses his brain to feel things, so it's probably in rough shape. I use the same brain to get a "good" or "bad" feel for people too... and I will admit, you're rather "rough"...

What you mean to say is that you use your "intuition" for that. Hmmm... sorry.. 4 syllable word... you use your "mind" for that. Trust me, your brain doesn't 'feel' anything except for maybe the inside of your skull. And it's ok if you think I'm "rough." I consider you rather "comical." In a sad clown sort of way.

I don't believe I used the word "mind"... but you can think that if you want...

Not what I wanted to say... and I say what "I" want... not what "you" suggest I say...
Not unlike Vosa and Breakingbad...

No, the ability to get a "good" or "bad" feel for a town or community because of experience doesn't necessarily require a comment/response... No argument here. I've always been impressed with your intellect. Now with your 'good' or 'bad' feels being the arbiter you are definitely at the top of your game.

I do have a definite "feel" for a lot of places... some better than others... that why I titled my other topic "My favorite little town"... many aren't my favorites... come on over and tell us what your favorite little town might be in some of the places you've been... you'd be more than welcome... "Feel" is kinda like the word "think"... leaves room for more consideration before one actually "knows/believes"...

What's happening in government is a symptom, just like what's happening in business: people have discovered that immorality pays, because while we're willing to harshly punish the guy who scores $200 robbing a 7-11, we look the other way when people who run corporations or governments steal or waste millions entrusted to them.

Just because you "drive through", and don't see riots, muggings, or get shot at on your drive through doesn't mean there's nothing wrong.

Not if they are Democrats. Then they get Cabinet appointments, or become a "czar". It's only when conservatives are caught misusing money that they are prosecuted.
