linkThis isn't a surprise at all, given Michael's behavior it is expected that his family is dysfunctional. So anyone who believes their narrative about how innocent Michael was needs to see who is pushing this narrative, and why.

And did you see Bill O'Reilly ask the two Black ministers last night if they were going to be satisfied if the grand jury chose not to indict the officer?... and BOTH said no...
The don't seem to want justice... they want revenge...

Wanting Revenge is the result when the Race Hustlers show up and stir up people. What amazes me is the people who disregard the facts to continue their narrative. Does anyone know if the protesters are saying the autopsy report was faked? Are they saying it is a cover up? Or are they just pretending it doesn't exist? Frankly given the rioting is still going on I think the police should swamp the streets with video cameras, and use the footage to arrest and prosecute those committing the crimes. If the race baiters step up then public humiliation should be done to show the lies that they are telling by showing clips of their statements and videos of the crimes. The police in the US today are not angels, there are plenty of cases of abuse. The solution as far as I can see for the police and the government in general is to prosecute those who break the laws, not cover them up. So video equipment should be mandatory for all police cars, and should point in all directions not just to the front. Police officers should have shoulder cams, and for off duty police officers I think someone should invent a gun camera which goes on when someones hand is on the butt. Then of course there needs to be accountability for the footage and if it goes missing the people responsible should get prison time.

Wanting Revenge is the result when the Race Hustlers show up and stir up people. I'm not sure I'd call this 'revenge.' Revenge is generally thought of a response to an injustice. So far as I can tell, the only person in this scenario who has been the victim of an injustice is Officer Wilson. What we're seeing with the Revs and the Brown family is more 'exploitation.'

Let the blacks have power it may only change the numbers on the Swiss bank accounts but then it might help.

Then of course there needs to be accountability for the footage and if it goes missing the people responsible should get prison time. The problem with the radio car and body cameras etc is that, deep down, I don't believe it is what we really want.
Oh yes...we like to pay lip service to the no-brutality, everyone's-civil-rights-are-protected etc meme...but I think that if all of us citizens are really honest with ourselves, and honest about what we want from law enforcement, we know it ain't gonna work.
Us law-abiding folks, who stay inside the lines when we color and who don't live on the mean streets of our nations ghettos, want our law enforcement to be like a sausage factory. Crooks are caught (the specifics of how it is done, we don't know about....nor WANT to know about) and go into the justice system....and then hopefully to jail. Where we then prefer to forget about them.
Beat cops in cities like Ferguson, Chicago's South Side, East LA, and yes, West Baltimore, enforce the law through FORCE. It isn't pretty, it isn't always fair, the cops aren't always right, and it is often downright brutal. But I sometimes think we as a nation say "Just get it done and don't bother us with the details. If we don't have to see it happening, we won't have to care."
Bringing video oversight into a situation like that is a little like having a referee at a barroom brawl.
Just one example: There are black folks of a certain age in Baltimore that sport a row of gold front teeth in the front of their mouth...which tells people who know that, back in the day, they gave lip to a Baltimore City police officer....who then jacked them up against the nearest wall and busted out their front teeth with his nightstick. When Pomerleau was Commissioner and for years before, the BCPD maintained law and order by being the best armed, most feared, and meanest gang on the block. Here's another: If you killed a BC cop back then, you were a dead man, if caught loose on the street, period. They'd fill in the details for the report later, after you were on a slab. If you somehow made it to the front desk of a precinct and turned yourself in, you would live. You would be beaten within an inch of your life in the back of the station, and likely spend the rest of your life in prison regardless of what actually happened or any extenuating circumstances (after a month or two in the hospital)...but you would live.
The rules were pretty simple, and everyone in those neighborhoods knew them.
Was it right?
Hell no.
HELL NO.
But it worked, after a fashion, meaning that it kept a lid on the pot so it didn't boil over and make a mess we would all have to see and deal with (at least, not until the 1968 riots)...before we swept it under the rug and forgot about it.
And I suspect that is more or less the way, on an unspoken and perhaps subconscious level, that we as a society WANT it....

Yeah like that kind of help.

I think you're probably right fredfish... but not so much for the reasons you cite. Body cameras will be a boon for the police. It will protect them from false allegations and make it easier to prosecute criminals. The thing that bugs me about it is privacy. I'm sure those cameras will be on when they serve warrants, and make other house-calls.

Looked fine to me... and I have traveled through that area on my way to the SL airport and other places a number of times... but of course, there's always hidden resentment when something like this happens... especially when the dead person is a member of the majority in the area... I do have a feeling that some changes are in the future for some of the elected offices in that area... nothing like something like this to wake a "sleeping giant" up... we'll see...

Some place that looks fine as you drive through doesn't mean much.
I hope there are changes there, that's why I hoped they would register voters and do some things to correct the imbalance in black and white power.
