Remember Chuck Thompson making commercials for Natty Boh with the theme "If you drink a case of beer a week, you're a real beer drinker?" These days that can get pretty expensive.

But watching this thread has been amusing. I am also a little surprised at how strong lite beer is. So are some others apparently.

a case a beer a week? if you do it every week that is a fair monthly beer bill. at least I think it is. I'd rather spend on something else. Or save it.

Deciding to spend your money on something else doesn't make a case of beer expensive. It is about choices. I choose not to spend money on cable that doesn't make it expensive. Just not my choice.

Up near York, there's a place that has something like 30 taps and one of them is a local micro-brew (stone Grille Lager). During happy hour 4:30 - 6 pm, it's only $2 for a pint. It's pretty good. The food's pretty good, too. www.stonegrilleandtaphouse.com/taps.html

The 40 ounce steel reserves are $2.32 at my local Sheetz. They will give you a nice warm feeling.
Happy Thanksgiving!

(But I am being careful not to use the word expensive!) At around 6-8% ABV, not many will be drinking 2 of those a day. We all have our peccadilloes, at least I know that I do, and I suspect that we each trivially splash some cash on them, what someone spends or wastes their own money on doesn't concern me if it doesn't adversely affect me.

Flying Dog Brewery is collaborating with Otterbein Cookies to produce beer that is complimentary with their cookies. Take a bite of cookie, take a swig of beer, and the tastes mix. My family had some last night at Thanksgiving dinner and it was a big hit.

Careful here. Remember when you have 1 finger pointed at someone else, there are 3 pointed right back at you. Everyone probably does something a little in excess. I didn't mean it as judgement. I meant it doesn't matter to our bodies whether we sip 5 beers or gulp them. Or at least to our livers. It still has to process it out. I guess. But I am not a DR! It might be somewhat better for you body to sip it I guess. Just about everyone of your posts on this thread is a judgement pf some sort. Folks drink too much, its too expensive or people like to argue too much. Then you get all pissy when folks don't agree with you. Lighten up, have a drink or two .

and he told me he likes to drink and I was thinking he had 2 or 3 beers a few nights per week. So I asked how many per day? and he told me he had 4 or 5 per night. He is muscular fellow about 6 foot and 190lbs but still , 4 to 5 is a lot no matter how big you are! I told him, wow, that is a lot! Since the rule for men is 2 per day max I guess he never heard of the rule? If I were him I would have said 2 or 3 per night even if it wasn't true! Oh heck I would feel bad admitiing I did it every night even if it was 1 I think. Do y'all agree that is a lot? I'm curious, who made this rule? Is it a rule or some guideline that some group that wants to control others behaviors made up? Okay some drink 1 to2 a day and others drink 5 or 6. Who is to say what's right? As long as this person isn't driving after that drinking that who am I to say he's wrong. Maybe he drinks a lot, compared to some others, but watches his diet otherwise (no McDonalds, watches the salt, watches the cholesterol, etc.), and doesn't smoke. Why do personal choices, that don't affect others, bother some people so much? Oh, and to answer the question in the OP, I don't think it's a lot.

Some of them are more easy on the eyes than others. I like the ones at the Mud Hut better than SG or HH, but MH only has 6 taps. The nice thing about SG is easy parking. The absolute easiest on the eyes and friendliest used to work at Mexitaly on Market St. (in the same strip as Outback and Harbor Freight). But she was let go over a dispute with the management IMHO. I'll wager patronage will drop off because of that. I know I won't be going back there.
