Well, it's hitting the fan in AA Co.,and "it" ain't snow.
So far they've had 142 accidents some involving kids on their way to school in private vehicles and in one case a school bus.
I bet the joint is jumpin' on Riva Rd.

If only the powers that be mandated vehicles come equipped with electric shocks for when folks don't adequately clean their car off, tail-gate, slam their brakes on/speed in icy conditions, and don't heed the proven fact that bridges freeze before the road surfaces- but they don't. Welcome to winter, B-more style. On 98Rock this morning they spoke to someone from MPT's Motor Week who noted that a lot of SUVs come with passenger car tires, because they're quieter and ride more smoothly than the tires that should be on those machines (big, knobby hard tires that sound like the Second World War and ride like a jackhammer with epilepsy). The result of that in weather like this is people surrounded by what they think handles well and protects them when reality is different. I've driven Jeeps exclusively for the last 35 years (always deemed critical personnel, so going into work was never an option). I've always loved them, got me through everything. When I retired, down-sized from the Grand Cherokees to a Liberty. I'll be back to my Grand Cherokee when I get another car. The Liberty does not handle well in wet weather unless I keep it in 4 wheel drive.

The Liberty does not handle well in wet weather unless I keep it in 4 wheel drive. Three of my sons drove Jeeps. Wranglers and the older Cherokees. Everyone had the 4.0 L six cylinder. Everyone went over 250k miles and one went 350k including a 5 week trip to California when he graduated from high school. Great vehicles.

You don't have to purchase the extremes. Owned an Audi A4 years ago and the tires accounted for much of the abilities the car demonstrated stopping in the snow and rain. The Quattro drive ssystem was no slouch either.

Good choices. I plant a large variety of produce. Planted peanuts two years in a row with limited success. But I am stil figuring them out. My okra does well every year though. I planted about 75 okra plants last year.

I stil have parsnips to dig up. Left them In the ground. One of my best crops every year. I no longer do parsnips. Home gardening is a great addition to a families approach to cuisine. In the seventies, when we were still quite young and Very poor, we lived almost entirely one winter on turnips! Since then, Mrs. Mule refuses to allow a turnip into her kitchen......

Brrrr... it is cold! Hard to get the chill out of the bones. I'm okay with cold but not freezing... snow and 30 is fine by me!!
We thought about a trip to Green Bay for the game this week until I saw the temps! A little too cold for me to be out in it watching a game!!

A winter of temperatures in the 30s and 40s would be great! No more of this single digits and icy winds!
