Wouldn't a hundredth of an inch be enough to paralyze your state? I recall hearing from a friend who lives near Austin that 1/2" shut the city down a few years back.

No... it would take a bit more than that... but any more "measurable" accumulation on bridges and overpasses closes down schools... half an inch would likely do it... and we are not so well prepared to maintain those kind of conditions down here... it didn't stop us at AT&T...

I do remember the old mailman's motto. But there were times when no mail was delivered.

You didn't use your snow blower?!? The minion cleared the drive later in the afternoon. - Didn't like having to use it. Would have preferred no snow at all. Would prefer a consistent 30 - 40 degree winter, actually! - Meanwhile, those hexagonal pests are wilting on the pitiless rays of the sun! Just as I want them to! Mwahahahahahahaha! Now you do realize that you have put the whammy on yourself?!? I'm going to have to start calling you the Snow Grinch.... you're a mean one, Mr. Snow Grinch!

At least the rain is washing away the gigatons of salt Baltimore County put down on three inches of snow last week.

Fortunately it was pretty much a mild icing. But damn your blood pressure rises just crossing the street with all of the salt they applied.

Here we got... freezing rain? Dunno what it was, but not snow. Much melting has occurred; there is very little left. Temperatures are supposed to be "more typical" for winter over the next few days, which I guess means 30s. And rain (not snow!) predicted for Sunday.
1/2 way through the worst month of the year! Woo-hoo!
