Neighbors will probably set off fireworks tonight and tomorrow. I got her an anxiety med yesterday from the vet. Hopefully it help her.

There's a PA veterinarian who advertises that he can help dogs who have this problem, so there must be effective meds for it. Let's hope the one your vet prescribed works.

The best way to keep your dog from being scared is to just act natural, don't change what you would normally be doing. Lets hope the meds from the vet will work. good luck

Our local fireworks display commenced at midnight last night (the traditional date/time it starts almost every year). For the newbies in the area who didn't know it was coming, it was probably quite a surprise. I wonder how many dogs it woke up.

BIG MISTAKE!!!! Gave her meds Friday at 8pm. She is still drugged. She is walking sideways and backwards. She is panting, eyes totally glassed over. We have to carry her outside for her to potty and carry her back in the house. We are feeding her while she is laying down. I have to bring the water dish to her. I will be glad when this pill finally wears off. She only got a 1/2 too. I have thrown the pills away. I dont want her to feel like this again

Woke up the morning and she is finally herself again. Running fence with the neighbor dogs, barking, eating and drinking. Glad that is over

That's how my cats came home from their life-changing surgery they had when they were very young. They recovered quickly. It sounds like you got the wrong meds or the wrong dose.
A veterinarian sent me home with the wrong meds once. Mislabeled it and everything. I went to the office to ask how it could have happened, and they were blase about it. I discovered they hadn't followed their own procedure: a second person was supposed to double check the prescription and initial the label. That stuff nearly killed my cat because it was a dog med; I only discovered what it was by comparing the pills to pictures on the Internet. Needless to say, I fired them.

Some act afraid, others look for dead animals to retrieve.
