What's there to think about? Cars going around in a circle. There he goes. There he goes again. There he goes again. Want another beer Ma?

Not a patch on Formula 1. Open wheel cars are a hazard to all involved fans drivers crew. A wreck starts the next thing you see is 100 lb wheels breaking off and flying everywhere at speeds of 200 mph. Alcohol fuel fires are hard to see, until a crew member starts doing the 3rd degree burn fandango. Open cockpit cars go sideways and grind the drivers head down the wall at those aforementioned 200 mph.

It wouldn't be much of a spectacle if they were driving around wrapped up in cotton wool though, would it?

Its just that for those reasons I like stock car racing better, Id like to see a few more road course races in NASCAR, myself.

I have tried hard, honestly really hard, to get into various cars going round and round in circles but, try as I may, I just can't get enthused by it. However, from what little I know about those oval races, I believe they are more dangerous than F1 is today.

I like the mechanics of it, pushrods are kewl! Outside of that.....I pretty much lost interest when they killed Chrysler and the 2 4bbl hemi circa early 70's just so others could compete. Superbirds and Dodge Daytonas were wild.... an embarrassment on the road but still wild. left turn left turn left turn left turn left turn ......................

Pushrods, an American 350 V8, carburetors (although the Sprint cars now are fuel injected *sigh*). "left turn"...... this year the best attended event was Watkins Glen. The wine and cheese crowd purchased every available ticket, even the auxiliary camping sites. The road course guys don't do very well against the rednecks. Even Montoya figured out he could go back to Indy cars and be a champion rather than just an also ran in Nascar.

The "old" NASCAR was more exciting, Allison... Yarborough and #43 slips in for the win. LOLOLOLOL Best fistfight in motorsports ever!
