John Harbaugh apparently wanted to dispel the rumors, or was directed to. He said that Perriman visited Dr. Andrews, the knee-rebuild specialist. Andrews ordered an MRI of Perriman's injured knee, the results of which were inconclusive. So he did an exploratory arthroscopy which revealed a sprained PCL, as earlier reported. Harbaugh called this the "slowest healing PCL sprains ever". Perriman also received a platelet rich plasma injection; this fluid can sometimes speed healing. It's various places; here's one. Slow healing in a football player is not good. It appears that Ozzie has drawn a beer hand again trying to add a wide receiver.

Smith Sr. is considering playing with four micro-fractured ribs (but he won't unless the Ravens are dumb). Perriman can't play with, apparently, nothing wrong with his knee (based on MRIs and arthroscopy results). One of them plays like a Raven. One does not. Perriman is another high draft pick wasted on a receiver who didn't pan out.

Perriman will see Dr. Andrews again on Monday. He has partially torn his anterior cruciate ligament and possibly faces season ending surgery.
He is officially a bust. It's not his fault; his body just isn't strong enough for the rigor of the NFL. Blame lies with Ozzie (whose track record with wide receivers is not good) or the folks who collected and processed the information Ozzie relied on when he made this decision. They selected a player with a history of a juvenile knee disorder too high in the draft, IMO.
Of course, it's really difficult to find game changing wide receivers even low in the first round. Basically, you have to get lucky with a guy who outplays expectations. So in a sense the Ravens on field success prevents them from finding and selecting a quality wide receiver. They probably could have this year, but they had other needs.

Not a good sign, to be sure. Typically when a guy suffers serious injuries in back-to-back years, he's a chronic injury risk. Twice hurt oftentimes leads to always hurt.

Hope for the best but I doubt he plays in the NFL.

Keith Mills, on the radio, said he does not believe Perriman will ever play. Something has made him injury prone, and if this new injury keeps him off the field this year, that will be two full years of not playing. He'll be a 24 year old rookie, rusty as a horse-drawn plow, trying to play a fast game at an elite level.
Ozzie hasn't been the same talent since the Ravens mishandled the Ray Rice incident. One wonders if his enthusiasm for the job has corroded.

He has not torn his ACL. Therefore, he may be available to play this year.
My suspicion now is that he is a malingerer, and will never play.

Perriman reportedly worked very hard to rehabilitate himself this offseason, so I'm not sure I'd label him a malingerer. He simply strikes me a someone you simply can't count on and should plan accordingly. The Ravens should treat any production (if he plays) out of Perriman as a bonus and not a necessity. My bigger concern about Perriman when he was drafted was his reputation for the dropsies. If he couldn't hold on to the ball consistently at Central Florida, how can he be expected to do so against NFL competition?

This is basically also my perspective, except that I do not expect anything from him except another long period of inability to rehabilitate, followed by a late October or early Nov trip to IR. I was using "malingerer" in its medical definition. It's hard to know whether he's got stone hands until/unless he ever plays.

Perriman had a very nice catch in the Bills game. But now he is not practicing (Wed), undisclosed why.

Now reading that it's some kind of calf issue. That's actually a relief. I was afraid it was his knee again.

He certainly seems like a kid who doesn't understand that the money is good in part because of the pain. I'm not talking about serious pain or permanently damaging injuries. Every attempt must be made to avoid those. I'm talking about the little nagging stuff.
