The Panther machine looks unstoppable, the year of the Newton.
I'm for them all the way
Go Panthers!

You are just a Manning hater. That is what drives your choice.

Unlike a few of the playoff games where I wanted to root against both teams (Pittsburgh v. Cincy comes to mind), here I want to root FOR both teams. - Manning can go out with a second ring, which he deserves; this is probably his last rodeo, and it would be nice to see one of the finest quarterbacks ever leave on top. Certainly, he shouldn't have fewer rings than his less talented brother! - I'd like to see Cam Newton shake of "Can't Newton" once and for all; they're level of play this year has been so astounding it seems almost wrong for them not to get the Lombardi.

Carolina has shown all year that they deserve this, no reason at all for them to be underdogs

I just can't stand all of the styling and preening after someone does, well, practically anything anymore. I don't care if the guy's white, black or a part-time soda jerk, it's bush league. Like the old-time guys used to say, "If you get there, act like you've been there before." If you have to draw attention to yourself for doing your job, you've had a bad career. I doubt if mechanics go into a dance after they've finished a brake job.
I'm picking Carolina, but I don't think it will be as one-sided as many pundits seem to think. Thing is, Denver will have to depend on its defense to carry the load because the offense simply isn't capable of doing to at this point.

Can't Newton comes up small. Horrendous performance, even allowing for the fact that Denver has one of the best defenses in the game. Worse, his post game performance was highly unprofessional, even allowing for the fact that he was disappointed (and who wouldn't be?). I'm beginning to understand why people don't like him, and it's got nothing to do with his skin color.
Denver's defense won that game. Peyton will get his second ring, but (although he had a few nice completions) he had relatively little to do with it. Good news for Denver fans; their team is a likely to be fine in the post-Manning era.

Panthers choked, Denver D won the game, Manning wasn't the winning factor at all.
Ok, NFL season begins again in April, I'm ready

Ravenchamp dislikes Peyton Manning for some reason. Sure, he beat the Ravens a few times. And they beat him (on the way to a Superbowl victory). He's still the finest QB of our generation, and anyone should be grateful to have his talent playing for them. Now, with a second ring, he can retire on top. And probably should.

There have been some rumors about Manning joining the Rams when they start play in Los Angeles next year. I don't believe that for a nano-second; Manning isn't going to Los Angeles or anywhere else next season.

I believe he will retire and even if he didn't why would he leave the Broncos??

I guess the reasoning was that with the Rams relocating back to Los Angeles, Manning would be a gate attraction on an otherwise blah team. Trouble is, he's no longer the type of player who can sell tickets. I don't think Manning would leave Denver as much as Denver will likely leave him. Were they to retain him next season, he'd count some $21 million against their camp, far too much for a soon-to-be 40-year-old quarterback with a noodle arm.
The Broncos will need that cap room to re-sign Brock Osweiler, who is also a free agent. He hasn't shown himself to be great, but they don't have anyone else in the pipeline right now. Denver will also need cap room to try and retain Von Miller. If they can't sign him long-term, I imagine they'll slap the franchise tag on him, but either way, Mr. Miller is going to be very costly. That leaves precious little room for Manning.

You're right, he would not be the one to sell tickets. Let's just hope he retires, what a great way for him to go out.
