Not as good as I wanted it to be. It's a good recipe it just needs a little experimentation.

Next time I'm going to add fresh roasted tomatoes to the mix. The recipe as called was too plain.

It looked so thick and seemed like it should take longer to cook.
More veggies would be great.

I just had some. It's actually better cold and a day old. It's almost cheese cakey...

My girlfriends and I have Girls Nite once per month and there is usually a theme of some kind. Anyway, we did a Greek cooking night and I made dolmades, they were great.
Not sure if you are in the Baltimore area but it happens to be Greek Week. I'll be heading to Ikaro's with my boys for sure.

Ikaros has good lamb chops. Have you ever tried that place out in Hunt Valley, Yasou Cafe? They have the real deal Greek food.
Whether you add meat to the Dolmades or not depends on whether you come from the islands or the mainland.

No, I've never been to Yasou Café. I don't get up to Hunt Valley very often but it might be worth the drive.
I added met to mine, I was taught by a Greek friend that we were stationed with in Germany.

My wife makes the best Spanikopita. Each sister and Yia Yia each have a specialty that they are really ,really good at making. One makes Spanikopita, one makes Tsureki, one makes Dolamdes....so for the big family gatherings we are good to go.
We are going to get our Greek fix tonight. We are heading to the light thingy and we are starting out at Ouzo Bay.
