I've noticed that some advertisers put their required disclaimer ahead of the ad, cut the volume in it, and speed it up. That sure can't be what the law that demands those disclaimers intended. Of course, what you know about dealers like that (Sheehy is one) right away is that they are dishonest.

TV ads are similar. Their disclaimers are display in very small print for a few seconds at the bottom of the screen.
And then there's the ever popular "Results Not Typical" which IOW mean everything we just said and showed is a lie.
Another trick is the unanswered question. Bosley's ad asks "Can Bosely regrow your hair?". No where in the ad the follows is that simple "Yes" or "No" question answered.
A Sloman Shield ad asks "You mean burglars pass by the Sloman Shield?" Answer- "Wouldn't you?" Again, another simple "Yes" or "No" question that goes unanswered.

I record most shows so I can FF thru the commercials, when I watch the news I flip during commercials.

cable ads are cheap 5.00 to 10.00 for a spot radio ads can run 60.00 to120.00 per spot
