Did not see the game, but did hear about it. The thing that was painfully apparent last year during preseason was that the club had the depth of a dinner plate. This year the tryout guys looked better.

When you're coming off a 5-11 season, you'll look for any positives to hang your hat on. Carolina probably could have cared less; beating the Ravens in the preseason was not going to atone for losing last year's Super Bowl.
In the preseason, teams work on specific things without regard for the opponent. The Ravens did it last night and so did the Panthers. There's no actual game plan to identify and attack the opponents' weaknesses; it's simply an exercise of seeing how certain guys perform in certain situations.
