The good news is that the Ravens will be playing the Browns, which is a game they should win. The bad news is that with the injury to RGIII, they'll have to face Josh McCown, who looked like the second coming of Otto Graham against the Ravens last year in Baltimore.

Last year's secondary was bad even before injuries. This year's, hopefully, will be better. It better be; they've still got no pass rush. Look for McCown to test Jimmy Smith if his line can keep Suggs out, and it should be able to do that.

Wow. Cleveland is imposing its will on both halves of the team. They look bad.

Cleveland came out strong, then turned back into the Factory of Sadness. I didn't see it, but the late taunting call is being called dubious a lot of places. They have struggled mightily against a pair of bad teams. This does not bode well for their chances against better teams.

I thought the taunting call was unnecessary, but still, that's exactly the type of call which would have gone against the Ravens last season.
There were some positives today, particularly the play of Wallace and Pitta on offense, and Pierce and Weddle on defense, but the play of the secondary overall was alarming. The third down defense alternated between awful, better, and then, at the end, typical Dean Pees in which it looked like the Ravens were going to cough up the winning score.
A win is a win in the NFL, and 2-0 is certainly better than last year's 0-2, but if the Ravens let the better teams on their schedule hang around like they did with Cleveland today, they're likely to lose those games.

I don't believe Pees' schemes are much to write home about. Perhaps the defensive players can have some meetings with Bisciotti, to which Harbaugh will not be invited, and get him fired...

There's a still on the team site that shows Coleman was out of bounds in the back edge of the end zone when he made that first catch. That takes the wind out of Cleveland's complaints about the taunting call; they got a free touchdown from the zebras. Comes news today that Flacco told Trestman they needed to dial up some deeper throws. Even with the pickoffs that proved the right choice. Trestman needs to listen to Flacco and not the other way around.
