Oof.
Negatives: Can't play all four quarters on both sides of the ball. Carr's last minute scoring drive tells you he's a solid quarterback; that kind of drive is what solid quarterbacks do. No answer for Michael Crabtree all game (that's on Pees). The offensive line was bad early, a bit better later. Joe's accuracy was erratic and if he's lucky he's not dinged. Looked like Hester was playing gimpy after the first return. Weddle dinged breaking up a pass; he was back later. Too many penalties. I saw nothing to improve my opinion of either Trestman or Castillo. Jimmy Smith still bad. Shareece Wright had a few good defenses.
Positives: The rush started slow but Terrance West ended up with a game that's got to make Forsett nervous. Perriman showed another glimpse of what he should be capable of, after a terrible drop. Steve Smith playing at a high level. Pitta playing much better than I expected him to (since I expected him to hang up the cleats before the season). Crockett had a couple of good plays.

There was a pass rush. Carr was running for his life a few times. Just not often enough. And Joe was getting beat to crap because our O-line wasn't holding Oakland's linebacks at bay. The secondary did not look good, and what's concerning is that the films of that are going to be of great assistance to future opponents. There's an excellent chance for them to finish the season 0-4 or 1-3, which means they need to step it up now while they can.

The Ravens need to establish more of a running game if Flacco is going to make it through the entire season. Flacco was getting pummeled in the first half, yet Trestman kept calling passing plays.

Forsett appears to be done. I guess they're waiting on Dixon? There were a few good runs today, but I'm sure the running game wasn't helped by the offensive line's difficulty handling the worst defense in the league.

The pass rush wasn't great, but it was improved over the previous week. I felt the defense was solid except for that quick drive Carr put together; they pulled plays out of their book it just couldn't handle. And the fact that they spent the entire game not accounting for Michael Crabtree. Unfortunately, those were back breakers.
It was encouraging that they never gave up. However, I'd prefer the offense ramp up so they don't have to keep trying to fight their way back from behind, and so the defense doesn't have to spend so much time on the field. This loss was on Trestman, Castillo, and the offense in my view: poor, uninspired play design, and extremely poor O-line play. I'm waiting for Flacco to seize the offense like he did in the Browns game, but maybe Harbs chastised him for doing that. Or maybe Flacco just doesn't like to operate that way and did it out of desperation because he did not want to lose to the Browns. One thing I believe: as of right now, when Flacco ends his career he will get no farther than the Hall of Very Good. He needs to seize control of the offense to make the next jump in ability.
