Yahoo/ABC1) Good to see SCOTUS accurately applying the law. 2) disturbing that the decision to support Trump's legitimate use of a properly constituted law only got a 5-4 vote.

I don't accurately understand the true national security threats in order to pass judgement on Trump's travel ban. Nevertheless, I agree with the Supreme Court ruling. I felt that the lower courts were weighing too much of the decision on Trump's offhand comments rather basing it on the the wording of a given executive order, potentially in an attempt to usurp presidential authority. Had this been allowed to stand, it would have set a bad precedent in the future where republican leaning judges could be trying similar tactics to limit the power of a democratic president. Stick to the letter of the law.
As an aside, I agree with Hogan's comment recently that Trump should stop using twitter.

On the one hand, he keeps using it to say remarkably ridiculous things. On the other, it's a way around the media, which says equally ridiculous things in places like the NYT and CNN. The third piece of this is that there appears to be something about Twitter and/or Twitter users that causes every single one of them to say absurd, bat-stuff crazy stuff. Trump needs to remember he's president before posting anything.

They may simply be looking for sanctuary, or they may be intending to create some attack on the country. We don't know. Then there is the problem of MS 13. We have thousands of them already here, murdering, raping, and kidnapping people. We don't need any more of them. Nor do we need more Socialist activists, coming here to spread the religion of Socialism.

I like the fact that he is trying to connect directly to the American people but some of the things that would have been okay to say in the 1970s and 1980s just aren't anymore and he needs to accept help in adjusting to that.

Part of his charm is that he's "real." I'm not sure filtering it through whomever replaced Steve Bannon would help. OTOH, you're absolutely correct he needs to be smarter about his tweets.

One concern that I have about the travel ban is the negative influence it may have on legitimate students and researchers from foreign lands. In other words, studying abroad. This can impact college admissions of many prestigious Universities where we are looking for the best and brightest.
I don't support unchecked or illegal immigration. That is a serious issue that puts those ignoring our law ahead of those that are following all the rules, costs, and processes of getting a VISA or trying to get a Citizenship.

Once upon a time, elite universities looked for the best and the brightest. Now they discriminate against Asians because there are already "too many on campus." Our elite universities aren't anymore. Probably haven't been for 30 years or more.

Those that apply for a VISA are vetted before the VISA is granted. They largely always have been. I don't think it will impact them all that much. Besides, if the universities are hurting that badly for American applicants, it's time they relooked what they are selling.

Wonderful decision. Wonderful Supreme Court. If you're Christian and white, we'll find a way to get you off the hook. If you're non-Christian, the Court will rule against you. The beginning of the end of the First Amendment freedoms. Pretty soon, we'll be back living in the 1930s.

The former characteristics aren't relevant to this decision. Protecting Americans, on the other hand, is the primary reason the government exists.

In theory, yes. In practice, no. We just saw tax cuts that benefit the rich, not the middle class. Tax cuts that promised raises . . for about 6 mil employees (yes, some one-time bonuses, but no real increase in pay). We've just seeOn a Supreme Court decision that restricts government unions. Did you know that women in unions make 15% to 30% more than women who aren't in unions? The regressive war on women continues. This on top of health care restrictions, restrictions on abortion that are being enacted in several states and proposed in more.
If you think that the recent SC decision on the ban was about the country, you're deluded. Our failing president made it extremely clear that it was about religion -- keeping Muslims out of the country. But, since Fox or Breitbart don't tell the truth and would never say what I've just said, you have no idea what's going on.
One day you're going to wake up and see what's happening in our country. It's not becoming great again. It's going downhill. Harley-Davidson is moving production out of the country. The largest nail company in the country may be going out of business because of the steel tariffs (which, interestingly enough, don't apply to foreign nails). The "wonderful" tax plan looks to take the deficit to half the GDP within about 5 years, and to 100% or more of GDP in 10 or so. But our failing president is making America great again . . . not.
But, as you say about most things, it doesn't matter.
What a pathetic little person you are. Keep hugging the girls at work -- the Supreme Court will probably rule it perfectly permissible in a couple of years.

And now Polaris is thinkingabout about moving some manufacturing out of the country. Our failing president: taking America backwards faster and faster.

Our failing president: taking America backwards faster and faster. When consumer confidence is hitting all time highs, and unemployment is this low, you really don't want to run against the Trump economy. And on that score, there's nothing worth responding to in your post. Beyond, of course, your attempt to make this about me yet again. I get this is a common tactic from the left. Someone you don't like says something you don't like, and every last one of you shifts into personal destruction mode (see: Waters, Maxine). This is not the way intelligent people act. It's the way of hate and ignorance.

He was importing Muslims at 100 to 1. Same thing with Kurds, and Yazitis. Sounds like you only want Presidents to follow the law if they are "fundamentally transforming" the country into a Muslim Caliphate.

But, as you say about most things, it doesn't matter. What a pathetic little person you are. Keep hugging the girls at work -- the Supreme Court will probably rule it perfectly permissible in a couple of years. 1. No. Another lie from the Party of the KKK. Taxes are lowered for nearly everyone, except Democrats, since you have to actually pay taxes to get them lowered. 2. The SCOTUS decision didn't "restrict" unions, except from stealing money from workers to launder for the DNC. Why should a worker have to pay people that don't want to pay them? And have that money used for political purposes that they disagree with? 3. So, they are paid for belonging to a protection racket, so every woman should belong? There are no "health care restrictions", unless you consider actually paying for your health care is a "restriction". 4. How many Baptists have blown up airplanes, or run through a shopping mall shooting people? How many Methodists? How many Jews? Nearly every terrorist attack has been Muslims. World wide. 5. Yes, there will be pain. What Trump is doing should have been done 40 years ago. When China demands that a Chinese company get 51% of any American company that wants to do business in China, and demands that they turn over all their technical data to the Chinese, there is a problem. When China can put tariffs on American goods, why shouldn't we tariff theirs? 6. It's not the tax plan that will cause problems. It's the Communists, and the NeverTrumpers demanding more and more spending that will do that. When they can't even cut 10% from the budget without the pajama boys and the harridans screaming about the end of the world, no wonder the deficit grows. We need to stop all Federal welfare, Medicaid, Medicare, and get rid of all the useless accretions around the government, and let the states take care of it. Then you will see a drop, not only in taxes, but in the debt. Until then, forget it.

Europe is lowering their tariffs because of Trump, China is talking because of Trump, and you can't stand it, because the failed President is the one you worship, and is no longer in power.
