I recall you posting, what looked like an awesome chili recipe when we were on SSL. I checked back and I didn't save it, I thought I did.
Anyhow, can you share it again? I'm in a chili cook off in 2 weeks with my girlfriends and my recipe is just too basic. It's a staple in my house but it won't win a prize!!
I think it was Texas style... or am I wrong?
Thanks!!
If anyone has a kick ass chili recipe, please share!!

Here it is! Hope you like it!! If you kick someone's ass with it, thought, it gets kinda messy....... 1 pound cubed stewing beef (cuts for london broil work real nice, too) 1 large onion, diced 2-3 cloves garlic, diced 2 tbps. olive of other veggie oil 1 tsp. hot pepper flakes (cayenne) 1 tbsp. good quality blended chili powder (I like McCormicks) 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper 1 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp ground cumin 3-4 large bell peppers, mix of red and green, diced 2 large cans tomatoes, pureed 1 tbsp. cider vinegar 1 tbsp Worchestire sauce 1 tsp. white sugar Brown beef in cast iron skillet, put in crock pot. Pour on tomatoes, stir in vinegar, Worchestire, sugar, salt, black pepper, bell peppers, stir. Put oil in beef brown pan; fry onion and garlic while scraping brown bits from meat off pan. When alliums are softened, stir in remaining spices, cook for a few seconds, and stir into crock pot. You may deglaze pan a bit more with some water if needed. Let simmer long and slow, all day, in crock pot. Optional: 1 can pinto beans with liquid. If you wish, you can stir them in. Or season them with a bit of oregano and cumin, mash with some bacon grease, and serve on side!

Don't forget the stick of cinnamon. I am absolutely going to do that the next time I make my usual chili recipe. I'm anxious to try it!!
I already bought some cinnamon sticks, I used all of mine up on my last batch of Apple Pie Moon Shine!!

Hotdigitydogdigity that was some good chili! Two thumbs up from the family. I had never made chili without beans and they really liked it. I did have to add beans to mine. I served it with my sweet corn bread and COLD beer. Well not for my sons. Very good one more recipe to try before my cook off! My poor family is gonna be so sick of chili!!
Thanks for sharing, this recipe is a keeper!!

Well, I didn't win the chili cook off but I got a lot of compliments! All of the entries were good. My best friend won, she had cinnamon in hers, all I could think of was bald eagles advice! Smh... Lol!!

Lol!! Bummer! But compliments are good!! I'm more a straightforward old-fashioned chili guy- unlikely to win awards, but likely for folks to belly up for seconds (and even thirds!!)

I like a traditional chili too. It was good and it was gone at the end of the night so I knew it was well received!
