I thought you weren't a Republican I'm a Libertarian. On this issue, I'm solidly with the Republicans. Don't be sad. You are allowed to vote as you wish.

As the Virginia election is showing, if you vote third party in big elections, you're really electing the person you don't want to have in. Better off voting for your second choice!

(and compared to owlgore, that was a good thing) Happening in Virginia right now-- Libertarian candidate is essentially handing the election to an anti-gun Democrat, despite the fact that the majority of voters are conservative- they just got their ticket split. As much as I think both parties fail to live up to their ideals, in big elections voting third party is essentially voting for the enemy. Unless you really, really hate both candidates- then go for it!

Lol The Sarvis candidacy seems to be solely to split the Republican vote. Google Joe Liedmandt and tell us why an Obama bundler would be a financial force behind Sarvis.

Google Joe Liedmandt and tell us why an Obama bundler would be a financial force behind Sarvis. Bingo. Regardless of Sarvis' real ideology, he is running as a Libertarian, and taking a large percentage of Republican vote. It's the tragedy of our political system- really, ideally, we'd need to have a Green Party person or some similar lib party running, too, in this type of election. Then it would be worth it to vote for third party. Otherwise, you're just throwing your vote to the other side.

Virginia should be a lock for you libertari---oops republicans! Virginia was close call even in last Presidential election- urban area outside of DC holds lots of Federal workers, and is much more liberal, and heavily populated, than the rest of the state. Take away 8-10% of Republican voters by another person running as conservative, and bingo- you got it. Now-- yes, it does show how easily divided Republicans can be. Though if a Green Party person ran, I suspect they would draw off a good percentage of the liberal vote, and make the race much more even.

Virginia is blue for the same reason Maryland is blue - Washington is in its backyard.
