Pending a physical of course.
According to MASN, the deal is for one year and $8 million plus another $750K in incentives. The Orioles will now have to surrender their 2nd round pick (55th overall) as compensation.
Talk about bad advice. Cruz was reportedly looking for five years and $75 million initially and of course, he turned down the Rangers' 1 year/$14 million qualifying offer. Still, I like the signing. Cruz is subpar defensively, but he's less of a health risk than Kendrys Morales, whom the Orioles were also said to be considering. And he absolutely murders lefties, which should play well in Camden Yards.

He and Markakis should get along well. 'Kake has been a vocal advocate of more stringent testing for steroids, calling such players "thieves".

this guy will go opposite field and be banging Eutaw st. this just makes the orioles a lineup of fear for opposing pitchers. think about how much this organization has turned things around in the past 10 yrs. At one point the orioles had a guy playing center field that they picked up from the York revolution.

I don't think this signing sends the wrong message. The reaction from some players was certainly more vitriolic when Jhonny Peralta signed a four-year/$52 million deal with St. Louis. Not only did appear to pay to cheat, but it also resulted in long-term job security. Cruz has a one-year deal, which means he'll have to move past the PED suspension and re-establish his free-agent bona fides if he wishes to test the market again next winter.

And he actually wouldn't be a train wreck were the Orioles to make him at least the part-time leftfielder. Cruz has a not-undeserved reputation for being a ponderous outfielder, but for defensive runs saved the past two seasons, he's only at minus-16, which isn't the worst.
