So how exactly do we see our warning levels?

If you have received any warnings or have been banned at all in the past, you will see a bar with a % under your name. If you don't see anything there, your warning level is zero, which is what you want it to be.

It can. I would have to make the change myself, and I will only do it if the poster has a clean record for a while. I'm thinking maybe 60 days or more. I won't drop it from 50 to 0 that quick, but I will decrease in increments, maybe after 60 days, then every 30 consecutive days after, drop it a little more.

How about sending a message when they increase.. Generally, we do. Sometimes we forget.

How do we know how old our warnings are?... See the rules for the procedure for asking for your warning level to be lowered. If you don't meet the criteria set forth there your request will be ignored, generally without response. If you just want the details of your warnings, send me a private message and ask. The reason for a PM is, we don't discuss warning levels publicly. I'm happy to do this occasionally. If people start pelting me with requests I will withdraw this offer. Therefore, consider carefully before asking.Thanks.

How about set up an appeals board .. Pick 3 members who would hear a reasoning for that post and give a thumbs up or down. How are warning points determined by a post. I know the rules but they are vague. The mods don't see every post but does whining about them go towards the warnings ..

This is not personal. Just a way to lighten the burden.

If a poster is on a time out, will that poster be able to see ones warning level during the time out? And as for sending a poster a message regarding in increase in the poster's warning level... If a mod increases a poster's warning level, I would think it would be hard to imagine "forgetting" to send a note as to why...

What is the huge concern here? It's just a public forum where people casually discuss politics and such.

some have been reported for constant stalking and harassment but it seems they still hang out and continue the same crime. where is the warning and or suspension for such actions?

Warnings are not made public. Only the member who has been warned can see them and their warning levels.

According to the rules post: So even if a moderator is aware of it, they won't lower the number unless you send them a message. They may even send you a message to tell you to send them a message to make them aware of what they just sent you a message about. I realize that sounds kind of convoluted, but in a civilized we must have rules and stick to them, otherwise we aren't civilized.

Others seem able to grasp this concept, judging by the fact that I periodically receive and handle these requests. Perhaps you could learn what they know, if you really put your mind to it!

Getting a message from the moderator telling me that if I wanted my warning to be adjusted down, I'd have to send him a message. Think about that.
