Attacking Iran offers no upside and plenty of downsides for this country right now. If the Idiot King hadn't invaded Iraq and run up huge debts, maybe. But in our current situation, we simply can't afford it. It would be the end of our economy.
Plus, we don't fight wars correctly any longer. When you fight a war properly you DO NOT rebuild your enemy after you're done. You leave him as an example.

It's amazing how well it works, isn't it? I've only got the one on my ignore list, and the board is ten times more readable. This is the first time ever Ive used ignore, and it is 10 times more readable to not have to wade thru smarmy nonsense comments that are only to inflame just below the level that gets you banned. It's like an industrial strength air purifier. Pulls the pollution out - makes the air all nice and fresh.

Why is there a promised infusion of 50 billion dollars in cash from the West? But Iran is not happy with that.

Netanyahu is far from an idiot. But he is a hardliner, and in a world built on compromise his kind is a dinosaur. If a chill went down any Tea Party members' back right then, well... A hard line is the only one possible with a country that has made the total destruction of your country it's main "foreign policy" plank. Indeed. From the "Six Day War" to the present, anyone who respects democracy and freedom surely must respect the people and the State of Israel.

The fact that Netanyahu dislikes something is a point in its favor for me!

The fact that Netanyahu dislikes something is a point in its favor for me! For what reason? Israel's existence is under direct threat from Iran- and Iran is not our friend, and has actively trained and armed militants that have killed our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. We have no reason to trust their intentions whatsoever.

"Imminent nuclear deal" appears to be not so imminent. It seems the workers preparing to add Obama's mug to Mount Rushmore can take a breather.

Darn there goes the chance to repeat on the Nobel Peace Prize.
Too bad the second one would have been worth something when/if ever he pulls it off.

They are a sovereign nation. And they're a party to the Non Proliferation Treaty that they're suspected of violating.

Not we. We aren't part of Iran. It's you guys and you're insane idea were gonna fix the Middle East . The only way this country will fix it is by burning all their oil. I'll bet the war on terror will stop immediately.

But the reality is, "we" are very much a party to them.

Well I think that the sale of their oil makes all this possible. though we don't buy Iranian soil we buy Saudi Arabia oil. You don't think the Saudis funnel that money to Iran. Just the Irony of the Middle East having so much oil. If they didn't have the oil they wouldn't have the money to build these things. It's simpler than that. Oil is fungible, so the fact that we buy from the Saudis means those who buy from Iran pay higher prices. The proverbial rising tide. I apologize, moses. I clicked the wrong button and messed this post up. I do not recall what it originally said, so I can't fix it. I meant to "quote" it but instead "edited" it.

I'll bet the war on terror will stop immediately. The 'war' on terror is akin to the 'war' on drugs. It will not stop because the end goal of such a 'war' is the accretion of power into the hands of government at the expense of the liberties of the citizenry. Terror and drugs are merely the 'oh look! Scary,' that is the facade which is put into place to terrify the easily scared into surrendering their own rights and liberties as well as the rights and liberties of others.
