I can't believe no one has posted anything about Veterans Day.
I just want to express my appreciation for those who have served as well as those currently serving.
Thank you all.

Our Nation asked for our service. Some avoided it, the rest of us did what we considered to be the right thing. It could be tough at times, however it was, at the time, part of the transition from boy to man. No regrets. BTW, Howard Hessman's character was my favorite on "WKRP." Thanks, Doc.

The Buchenwald concentration camp was liberated on April 11, 1945 by four soldiers in the Sixth Armored Division of the US Third Army, commanded by General George S. Patton. www.scrapbookpages.com/Buchenwald/Liberation0.htmlI actually have the nazi flag dad removed from the office wall and sent home

The 3rd Army liberated the Dora-Mittelbau concentration camp. No where near Buchenwald. linkyThat one too huh, cool. The 89th Infantry liberated Buchenwald. They were a distant part of the 3rd Army, however their commanders were Maj. Gen. William H. Gill (July 1942 – February 1943), Maj. Gen. Thomas D. Finley (February 1943 to inactivation). Trust me, I know history better than you will ever know.

I find it hard to believe folks can argue about those who served. To those who came before and serve today, my thanks. To those with whom I had the honor of serving, the eternal gratitude of one brother to another.

Thank you to all veterans, and especially to those who sacrificed their lives to protect the rest of us.

Thank you dad WWII General Patton's 3rd Army Bastone, The Bulge, Liberation of Bukenwald Nazi Death Camp Mine was with Mark Clark. Torch, Sicily, Italy, D'Day, Battle of the Bulge, crossing the Rhine. I volunteered. It was just something I always knew I would do, from the time I was really little. My uncles were all in during WWII, most of the adults I knew when growing up had served. I remember one guy that lived on the corner of my street. I asked him one day if he had been in the Army, and he said "yeah, during Korea". I didn't even know what the Korean war was. Hadn't really ever heard of it. Now I've pulled 2 tours there.
