We started off on Saturday, trying to avoid the crowds by going into a more remote section of the park.

Our next stop along Kolob Terrace Road was Lava Point.

We went from there, to another section of the park that is 40 miles away from the main entrance, but close to I-15. The Kolob Canyons Overlook. This would complete our Saturday.

On Sunday morning, on our way to the main gate, I got a sudden urge to turn down an unmarked dirt road, and was not disappointed. Once we got to the main gate, I quickly became frustrated with the crowd compared to the few people we saw the day before. I ended up driving through the park, up the switchbacks, through the tunnels to the east side of the park.

Some of the crowd has left the park, so I was able to find parking at Canyon Junction and we had to catch the shuttle to reach our final destination. Taking pictures from a shuttle bus sucks.

Nice pics... Zion is my favorite of all the national parks... if one has the time a drive on up to Cedar City and east through Cedar Breaks NM via Panguitch Lake (SR143) to Bryce Canyon NP is well worth the extra day... not to mention the many other attractions around southern Utah and northern Arizona...

Awesomely cool pics, maybe if they leveled the mountains out and put in a golf course.
